He thought about when they first met, and how she was so caring, he screamed her name “Zara…….”, June, sat in her house for the first time she was happy. “Hey, do you know, I won so many awards in school, my mum said she should have named me, Gold instead of Rose.”. June laughed, and danced around with Rose, while Harvey watched with a smile, he had never seen June look so beautiful. His mother came to him.
“Don't be fooled by her beauty dear, you can see what she is capable of, yet you stare at her so lovingly, how would she ever respect you if you are soft.”
Harvey frowned, his mother was right, he rested his head. His mother smiled when she noticed the effect of her words. Luke sat outside the hospital staring at Zaras picture, when he heard a voice call his name from behind.
“It's you.”. He turned and saw the most enchanting smile in the world, she was extremely beautiful, he looked at the photo in his hand, and back at her, then back at the photo, he jumped up and hugged her.
She was confused but she let him have his way.
“You're here, I thought you were dead.”
She looked at the photo in his hand and understood his misunderstanding. “Oh no sir, I am not Zara, I am Hailey, and this is my mum.” Luke was confused, how could two people look so alike.
“Did you possibly have a twin.”
She laughed.
“Are you still drunk?, I just came to check on you, see you later.”
Luke could not take his eyes off her.
“Wait!, where can I see you if I want to see you again?.”
She got into the cab, and waved goodbye.
“Her name is not Zara.”
He went into his office and sat thinking of all that happened today, was his destiny playing tricks on him.
Someone opened the door without knocking, it was his assistant.
“I'm sorry I did not knock, but there is an emergency, your father's autopsy, is out.”
He looked up and at his assistant.
“Really?, and?.”
His assistant kept the report on his desk and left.
He stared at the report, he was not yet ready to know the truth of his father's death, he needed to rest, he needed to take a break from work, but there was no one to replace him.
He reached for the report, and saw that his father was poisoned, he was not surprised, but how would he find his father's murderer, this thought was another thorn in his flesh.
After work, he walked to his car, he saw June looking extremely happy, and he saw a girl with her, he felt he knew that little girl, but he could not remember where, he ignored there conversations and got into his car, determined to find Haileys address.
He gave her photography to his assistant, and drove off.
Hailey went home only to find her belongings thrown out. “What's going on?.” They ignored her questions and kept throwing her things outside. “Stop it, whats going on?.”. Her mother in law stepped forward.
“I'll tell you what's going on, you are no longer needed here, you could not give this family an heir, and you wanted to murder my son.”
With her knees on the floor she pleaded
“Please, where will we go, look at this child, I adopted, Harvey was so happy, why do you hate me?.”
“You look so much like your mother, it terrifies me, it irritates me.”
June held her head in her hands, she cried, she remembered her mother's words, “I do not trust Harvey, he does not love you, please wait for Luke.”. But she did not listen, and now she waits outside homeless.
“Why don't you go back to your lovers house!.”.
Someone helped her get up, June looked at her, but she did not know who she was, “You can leave with me, you and your daughter, I currently leave alone.”.
June hugged the stranger and went with her leaving her belongings outside under the rain. The three of them held hands as they finally arrived there destination.
“I'm sorry.” June said, “but what is your name?.”.
“Hailey!.” The stranger replied. From today we are sisters, do you understand?, whats mine is yoursexcept my future husband, is that ok?.” She smiled and hugged her, that instant her future looked bright, at last she was free from her abusive husband.
When Harvey was discharged, he got home, and asked after June.
“June finally left dear, I wanred you earlier, you should not have anything to do with her but you refused, and now look, she even left these divorce papers, she asked me to give them to you, she even threw them on my face.”. Harvey became really furious, to think that he was beginning to love her, but perhaps she did not see it. He took the divorce papers without thinking and signed.
“Now mum, you take this divorce papers, and throw them on her face, exactly the same way she treated you.”
His mother nodded happily, she had finally gotten what she wanted.
She just had to go to Luke's house, she was very sure June went there.
“June” she yelled, as son as she got in.
“Come here!.”. Luke's maid Gwen came out from the kitchen.
“No one is at home madam, I am the only one here.”
Harvey's mother shook her head. “I will come back later.”
Luke's Pov
Ever since my mum died, my father chose the path of drinking, which eventually led him to his death, I am sure someone poisoned his drink.
Luke's assistant texted him Zaras location.
He knocked on the door, and June opened it.
He tried to ignore her but she held his begging, he took her back. June was excited and determined not to loose her best friend again.
Zara came home and found the house empty.
