Anne was sitting on the bed. She was lying silently. Its been three days now and she had not seen Rylee. Her head was brimmed with thoughts of fear and anxiety. She had sent her to a place where she would never go. The palace might look ostentatious from outside but it was a place of miseries , secrets and mysteries. Everything what seems to be good outside, is totally different from inside. Anne was aware of everything that happened inside the place. She had been through all the torchers and witnessed many unknown things. She was helpless right now. She wanted to see her but could not go to that hell. The reminiscences of past and present was haunting her mind. The barbarous king and Queen stood for no mercy. The brutal killings of the innocent that had taken place inside the palace, marriage that was being held not on love but for power and fame, all of these things, Anne was aware of. Anne had witnessed all the true incidents took place inside the palace which was hidden from the public eye for years.
Anne P.O.V
When I opened my eyes, I found I was somewhere outside of my house. For a moment of time I thought I was being kidnapped by Royal armies. They must have found my identity. I was still feeling dizzy. It occurred to me as if I was being poisoned. I looked for my daughter, my Rylee, where was she? I had no courage to shout. I was feeling head pain a lot. When slowly I raised my hand and touched my temple, I felt bruises. When through finger I caressed, I could feel the pain. It was a heavy pain inside my brain and it seemed to I was burning. My chest was tight, legs numb. I did not k where d now what had happened to me. I tried to open my eyes properly to look for someone but I could not. After few minutes somebody opened the door. I felt a relief. The first question that rose in my mind was;
"Where am I ? Where is my daughter? Where do you kept her hidden?"
"I am a local nurse, your daughter brought you here. You were unconscious for four hours,"
"Unconscious? what had happened to me? Why my whole body is paining?"
"I can't tell much about you, let local physician come."
"Help me , help me to wake up, I need to find my daughter," I cried for help. When I could not find Rylee, I was losing my temper. Something was not correct. I was imagining weird things.
"Lie ..down.. Please , you need to lie, your daughter is somewhere outside to fetch some water and food for you." Nurse tried to calm her senses down.
"Bring my daughter fast, I need to see her , if she is okay. Please help me. She should not go to palace."
"You need to rest now. Your daughter is outside, she will come in a minute." My breathing was getting heavy. I just only wanted to see her. Her absence was making me go crazy. I tried to get up from that bed but I failed.
After few seconds I saw Rylee coming straight towards me. We hugged each other. Tears of love was flowing from my eyes.
"What had happened to me? Why did you brought me here?"
"When I came at your room today, I saw you were lying on the floor. I did not know what do do, so I brought you here." Rylee replied. " They said you had nervous breakdown."
"Nervous breakdown?"
"Yes, it happens because of extreme tension or stress. Is it something brothering you?" Rylee looked at me curiously.
"No , I was worried because I thought you would leave me here alone and go there."
"No, mother I won't leave you here, yes I wanted to go, but I have changed my mind, do not worry. I am not going anywhere." Rylee held her mother's hand tightly and lay her head on her lap.
They returned home back after Rylee found that her mother was good in health. Everything was going good until someone knocked the door. Anne opened the door and she was shocked to see some royal armies standing at the door of her house. For a moment she was blanked and nothing was coming into her mind.
"What you need?" She asked stammering.
"We have come here to fetch her."
"Why? She has not done anything, Why will you take her?" She said worryingly. Rylee came after a while hearing the voice of the guards. Then she reminded herself why these guards had come. She understood it was because of that letter which had arrived two five days back.
"Since she was selected as the new cook, we are here to take her. She have to go with us." One of the guard spoke.
"I am not allowing her, the palace is not a safe place for my daughter to stay."
"If you have doubts, then you can also come and stay, we will inform the palace head secretary. They will arrange everything you need."
Anne tried her best to stop but she could not. If she went in the palace, they would quickly recognize her and would do everything to kill her and Rylee. Anne never wanted to show herself but something struck her mind, "the promise" she had made to Rosel ( Rylee's real mother). She looked at Rylee and thought a day would definitely come when she had to spill out the truth. She could not conceal it forever in her heart. Before she die she would have to say everything to her. If this was just the mere beginning , she had to prepare herself for the future.
She looked at Rylee with teary eyes and bade her goodbye. One last thing that she told her was that.
"Whoever ask your name, you will tell your name as Grace and not Rylee, promise me you will do this." Rylee nodded her head smilingly.
