Day of the Alpha ceremony:

"Ouch! I don't see why I have to dress up!" My nerves were on edge with all the tugging of my hair and makeup being slathered on my face by my mom and Luna Alanna.

"You are being announced as Beta after Damon is announced Alpha and announces his Gamma." Luna Alanna said while shoving another pin into my ridiculously tight bun.

"Perfection! Now, go put this on" My mother shoved the garment bag into my arms as I groaned.

I made my way into my bathroom grumbling under my breath the whole time, I've never been into this girly stuff. The most makeup I have ever done was some simple eye liner and mascara, and my choice of clothing is never fancy. After carefully slipping the dress on I stood back to get a good look at myself in the mirror.

"Wow" My voice came out hushed, for once I looked like a woman. My curves were visible in the tight dress with my legs on full display. I guess I should be happy they gave me a dress I can fight in if anyone challenges me. But it also highlights another thing different about me, I have larger hips and breasts than any she-wolf I've ever seen.

"Keelin come out, we want to see you!" 

"Coming mom" Bracing myself for the coming enthusiasm I slowly walk out of the bathroom.

Luna and my mom just stare at me not saying a word.

"What? I thought you would be happy turning me into a doll."

"Kee, you look beautiful!" Luna gushed

"Mom, are you going to say anything?" She was wiping her eyes.

"My little girl is so grown up!"

I will admit, I look pretty damn good.

The evening has gone by slowly, mostly because I've been trying to avoid peoples stares. Guess they are not used to seeing me look like a girl either. Damon's ceremony went flawlessly, and he is in the middle of announcing his Gama. Markus is more than qualified, and he looks the part as well. Tall and muscles looking like hes spent the last six months in the gym, his brown eyes often land on me as if he is waiting for something. He said his thank you's and stepped down from the stage pushing his blonde locks from his face. 

"Are you ready?" My eyes caught Damon's hazel ones as he mind linked me.

I simply nodded just noticing that his dark hair was freshly cut this morning, someone is hoping to find his mate tonight. We have hundreds of visitors for this, after all many wanted to see who would be replacing Alpha Nelson.

"As many of you know I have already chosen my Beta, and I am sure that you have heard the rumors." Everyone was completely silent, waiting to find out if they were true. "I would like to welcome the newest Beta to the Golden Summit Pack, Keelin Blake!" I made my way to the stage to stand along side Damon as Markus had done before me, but instead of cheers it was quiet. Aside from my parents and Damon's parents no one made a sound, again. 

Ugh.

"Before we proceed would anyone like to challenge Ms. Blake for the title of Beta?" Damon's voice boomed over the large crowed of at least 600.

Silence

And more silence, like they were debating.

No one from our pack would dare challenge me, the men respected me and the women were confused and scared by me.

"In that ca-" Damon was cut off by an unknown wolf making his way to the stage.

"I Jasper Owens challenge Keelin Blake for the title of Beta of the Golden Summit Pack." Figures Councilmen Clyde would put his own son up to this in disgusting reach for more power.

"Keelin do you accept the challenge?" Damon's eyes held worry but not for me.

"I accept the challenge" Smiling at Jasper, he has no idea whats in store for him.

Damon gave his instructions, we have 1 hour to prepare and meet on the training grounds. No one under 17 was allowed to attend, because this would be a fight to the death.

A brutal one at that.
