Goodbye

"You are excited right?" Damon used his long fingers to poke my arm with a huge smile on his face. Were having breakfast with our families in the pack house when he decided to tell me the news. "When will they be here?" I asked ignoring his question. "In three months" The room filled with unease and no one could hold eye contact with me. "Why does it seem like your not telling me something?" I stared at my father from across the table. My mother swatted at his arm clearly mind linking him. "Well. um." This was weird my father never had a problem telling me anything, previous Alpha Nelson stood up to speak. "If you are accepted they give you one more task, they use it to weed out the weak that may have made it in." His face was holding an emotion I could not read. "Just tell me!" I was becoming agitated and they all knew. "Anyone who makes it will get dropped in various places throughout Canada, given nothing but a map and whatever you can fit in a pack. You will have two weeks to get to the castle in Echo Bay or you forfeit your spot in the army." My mother had tears streaming down her face at Nelsons words while everyone had worry all over their face. "Baby you dont have to do this" Moms voice filled with pain. "It doesnt sound so hard" I scoffed. "Keelin it will be the middle of October in the forest of Canada, its easily a months run and you will be all alone" Damon had a look in his dark eyes I had never seen before, it was more than worry and I could not put my finger on it. "I can do this, we all know im different and for as long as I can remember I have been pulled to the Army. I dont know why but I do know it is me destiny."  Alana stood and made her way to me, she placed her hand on my arm as she spoke. "I will support you Keelin, you are the most brave girl I have ever known and possibly the most brave the world has ever known." Soon the rest of the room did the same, my father had so much pride in his face. I know this is what I was meant to do and nothing will stop me from my destiny. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next three months passed in a blur, all I could focus on was the arrival of the officers from the Lycan Army. I have trained and pushed myself daily, from swimming in the coldest rivers to sparing with Damon, my father, and Nelson. in preparation of the extreme cold I will face in the first few months I wear nothing but shorts in a sports bra, and often take ice baths to help condition my body. It took weeks of convincing Damon to let me train the next Beta, mostly because he believes I will change my mind and not want to go.  That is not going to happen.  "They are ready for you" Gamma Markus announced pulling me from my thoughts. "Thanks Mark" I said with a smile, we have grown rather close in the past few months and he is one of the few who supports me leaving. His mate Jemma on the other hand has been a mess, her pregnancy hormones are going crazy and shes attached herself to me. I made my way to the Alpha office and knocked to announce myself. "Come in Keelin" Damons voice came from the other side of the door, I quickly entered the room to meet the gaze of two unknown wolves. "Keelin have a seat I am Head Warrior of the Lycan Army Jace and this" He gestured to his left "This is Simon, my second." I quietly bowed my head to their introduction, something about Jace is off the way hes looking at me isnt right. "You will have half an hour to fill out this packet" Simon slid me a large stack of papers as Jace spoke. The entire time his blue eyes stared at me quizzically, as if he were studying me. "Once you have finished it come out to the training grounds and you can complete your test." As soon as he spoke the three men left the room, leaving me to fill out the forms.  The way he spoke pissed me off, his voice dripped with the arrogance of a man who needed to be put in his place.  Name: Keelin Blake Pack: Golden Summit Alpha: Damon Marshall Date of birth: Unknown (adopted) Parents: Brian and Annie Blake Height: 5'6 Eye color: Green Wolf eye color: White Wolf fur color: Pure white Blood type: O- Birthmarks / locations: Black crescent moon / base of neck Special skills: Speed, strength They do not need to know the rest just yet. My wolf stopped me from writing down anymore under skills. After I finished what was basically a fill in the blank bio of myself I headed down to the training grounds, and the rest of the day was simple. I spared with Simon until Jace was confident I could be an asset to the Lycan Army. After filling my pack with some clothes, drawing supplies, snacks and water I said my goodbyes to my very emotional family. My mother promised to have my belongings shipped to the castle so I would have everything I needed when I arrived. After all the tears were shed, not mine all I felt was excitement. I promised I would make it safe I boarded the plane with Simon and Jace. The whole flight Jace would not take his eyes off me, something about this guy is off and I do not like it.
