Tar

665 Words
I spent the early morning drawing from my dreams, this time there was another man drawing me into him. I felt like a child when I woke up from it, I was so drawn to the voice because it gave me an odd sense of comfort.  He said only one word "Come" Shaking the thoughts from my mind I finished eating some of the snacks I had packed in my bag, I want to finish this trip as quickly as possible. I dont need the two weeks but if I arrive to soon they may grow suspicious.  Ugh, I let out a huff in frustration. Might as well go on human foot for a while, tucking my long brown hair into my hood I set off taking my time to enjoy the peaceful forest in the early morning light. Times like this when the world is so calm I feel so anxious, like something is going to happen. Like the dark voice inside of me is going to call out for blood and make my fangs ache for it. As much as I enjoy chaos, blood, and violence, part of me hates not knowing why I crave it. Ive always known Im not a "normal" wolf but deep down I am very different, I never told anyone half the things I think. How the feeling of blood on my skin is soothing, how my dark evil thoughts make me smile. What would my parents think of me if they knew how many times I snuck off pack grounds to kill small animals for their blood just to make me teeth stop hurting.  They would hate me, I dont care about others but if they hated me what would I have to live for? At least they chose me, they didnt get stuck with me. Dad did not have to volunteer to take care of me when he found me in the woods. No one can ever kn- CRACK!  A breaking stick jolted me from my thoughts, turning around three wolves came out from behind the trees. The whites of their eyes have gone black they all bared their teeth at me letting out low growls. Hot stream of air flowing from their noses slowly circling me, these are not normal rogues.  The first lunged at me not giving me a chance to shift, jumping to the side I pulled the knife from my boot. "Bring it on" my smirk clearly angering the grey wolf further.  She lunged for me at the same time I ran in her direction, before she could snap I slid under her body and dug the knife into her neck causing her hot blood to spill out onto my face. Forcing her lifeless body off of me I jumped back to my feet, a slightly larger brown wolf growled and nipped its blood stained teeth in my face. Using the hilt of my knife to hit him in the eye he let out a howl of pain, the other brown wolf lunged at my back sinking its teeth into my right leg. Twisting my body I forced the knife into his skull and gave it a yank forcing it out at an odd angle, his mouth went slack letting me pull my leg away.  "Looks like its just you and me now." The wolf looked at me with rage in its eyes, he ran at me with incredible speed. I jumped and landed on his back, he tried to buck me off like an angry bull but to no avail. My legs were wrapped around his neck and my knife was dug into his temple, he was dead before he knew what happened. Wait, their blood is black. Wiping it from my face it felt thick and almost sticky, the smell of the blood was more like the smell of death. Tar, it is tar. My wolf said with a confused look. Who the hell bleeds tar? - - - -
