Theo enters the classroom he takes in the scene students chattering among themselves it isn't quite what he had expected taking a seat in the middle row he takes out a book and pen
not long after the professor enters the classroom setting his bag on the desk he turns to the board begining to write without saying anything
“He's kinda hot” A girl whispers behind him giggling quietly with her friend
“Alright class these are our topics for the term take them down, the rules for my class are simple no talking, no eating, water is allowed all assignments are meant to be finished on given time no extension are given are we clear?” Mark's stern deep voice echos through the classroom
“Yes Professor” The class answers in union
Theo watches him curiously Mark is attractive his curly black hair falling into his face,the suit hugging his muscles nicely his deep voice sending a shiver down Theo's spine
He gulps his throat becoming tight as he begins to write the room falls silent the only sound is the marker moving against the board or the occasional giggles of the girls at the back
Theo writes down notes in his book highlighting the necessities of the topic
after what feels like an eternity the bell rings dismissing class
“Read your textbook I expect someone in here to explain what to do when someone goes into cardiac arrest” Mark says coldly
Theo packs his stuff up leaving the classroom he walks around campus looking for the food court sighing deeply he ends up at the campus library instead
“You seem lost” A girl suddenly appears by his side
“I totally am” Theo chuckles
the girl laughs with him
“I'm Jasmine where are you looking to go?” She asks
“The food court, I'm Theo” He says
“Follow me” Jasmine leads the way
Theo following closely behind they walk for a few minutes before arriving at the food court
“Thanks” Theo says gratefully
Jasmine smiles walking into another direction,Theo buys himself a salad bowl and a cup of cold lemonade sitting at a random spot near a garden of roses
he enjoys the peace of being by himself he was never the person to crave attention or feel the need for friends in his eyes each person was born alone unless your a twin,triplet and etc
so he believes it's okay to go through life alone as people come and they always go eventually wether it's parting ways or in death.
suddenly his mind drifts to the professor and the given assignment feeling flustered by the thought of the gorgeous man he saw in front of him earlier that day
Evening Campus Parking Lot
Theo gets into his car after a long day of classes starting the engine he drives to the local cafè where he works to pay for necessities parking in the parking lot he gets out of the car
heading inside to the staff room to get changed into his uniform
“Hurry Theo it's packed outside” Leo the manager says
Theo ties the apron behind his back stepping in for the cashier that's checking out for the day
“Hi welcome to Tasty Flavors,what can I get for you today?” he immediately falls into work mode
his shift runs by quickly and before he knows it it's 8:30PM and time for closing he cleans up with the rest of the staff
“You started college right Theo?” Jennette asks she has been a server at the cafè for about 2 years
“Yeah I did” Theo responds switching the open sign to closed
“Do well” Jennette encourages she's a little elderly the gray already beginning to take Color in her hair
Theo smiles slightly once he's finished going to his car to head home
20 minutes later Apartment Complex
Theo steps out of his parked car making his way up to his apartment with the elevator it's only been a few months since he moved in however he adores the complex
it's quiet and peaceful and the neighbors are always respectful he enters the apartment locking the door behind him turning on the heat.
Theo takes a shower and gets ready for bed being exhausted from the long day he had settling into bed he picks up his textbook from the nightstand reading a passage on what to do when someone goes into cardiac arrest
eventually he falls asleep the book laying open next to him
The Next Morning
The Sun shines through the curtains brightly as the birds chirp outside the window Theo stirs at the sound of his alarm blaring through the room
he groans reaching out to turn it off he wants to sleep in more but he has a shift before his evening classes getting out of bed Theo makes his way to the bathroom brushing his teeth
he takes a quick shower getting changed into a simple green sweater and black sweatpants packing his bag with what he'll need for class and work
he takes the elevator down to the apartment complex parking lot getting into his car,he drives to work tapping his fingers against the steering wheel humming a soft tune in his head
10 minutes later he parks in the cafè parking lot making his way inside Theo gets changed and takes over for the cashier
5 hours later
Theo yawns as he makes his way to class already exhausted
“Hi Theo your in my class?” Jasmine suddenly appears from around the corner
“Yeah Hi” He responds taking a seat in the middle row yet again
Jasmine sits next to him getting her stuff out
The Professor enters a few moments later turning his back to the class as he begins writing on the board
“Someone stand and explain what to do when someone goes into cardiac arrest” Mark says without turning to the class
Silence
“Now” Mark repeats
Theo stands slowly
“First check the breathing and responsiveness of the person,call for help start CPR by placing the person flat on their back using the heel of your hands start chest compressions,use an AED as soon as possible and continue doing CPR” Theo explains
Mark turns around pointing at Theo
“Name?” He asks
“Theo” Theo responds
“Take note from Theo he will be rewarded an extension of time for an assignment if by appointed time he is not finished” Mark says
Theo smiles slightly taking a seat once again class runs smoothly after that however Mark keeps making eye contact with Theo
An hour later class is dismissed but not without another assignment first
“For those who did not complete yesterday's assignment I expect a detailed two pages explaining what to do when someone goes into cardiac arrest I will take nothing less than 1000 words” Mark says
“Understood Professor” The class agrees
Theo gathers his stuff making his way out of the class
“Theo let me see you for a second” Mark says before he could leave
“Is there something wrong professor?” Theo asks
“No I would like you to sit at the front from now on” Mark commands
“Okay” Theo simply agrees
“Your dismissed” Mark says
Theo leaves the classroom going to his car he goes home after deciding to make himself some food instead of ordering
being so close to the professor made him nervous and he's not quite sure why maybe it's because mark is quiet attractive and hise smelt expensive
Theo smiles to himself happy in this chapter of this life
