16. Amazing is the Prayer

580 Words
AMAZING IS THE PRAYER   As I stood there I feel Allah is near As I say Allahu akbar I testify that there can be no one greater.   To bow down and prostrate To the Lord of All Worlds Humbling myself As HIS slave.   When I pray, a part of me trembles Both in fear and in absolute awe Of His Might, of His Power, of His Greatness, Of His Punishment, of His Reward, Of His Mercy, Of His Love, Of His Creations, Of His Dominion of the Earth and the Heavens, Of His Knowledge of the Unseen And how neither sleep nor slumber overtakes Him.   Then when I make sujood It is the best feeling in this whole wide world To worship Allah as the One and Only True God To surrender to HIM, offering every part of my being.   When I say, "Alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen" Allah says to the angels, "My slave has praised me." Isn't that enough to bring me to tears? For Allah to acknowledge me as I pray. The most beloved deed to Allah Is the doing of the five obligatory prayers Which was why HE made them obligatory Because Allah Azza Wajal does not want me to be led astray.   Salah is not for HIM It is for me, it is for us To safeguard peace in our hearts To give tranquility to our minds.   If I pray the morning prayer with an added sunnat prayer I am assured that I am one of the richest people Because Rasulullah (s.a.w) has said, "The fajr prayer is more precious than the world and everything in it."   Then if I consistently make sunnat prayers for isha and zuhur I am assured to be saved from the punishment of the Fire's doom And when I wait for the next Azan, staying on my prayer carpet, doing dhikr, reciting the Qur'an, after praying maghrib The angels during the waiting duration tell Allah to grant me forgiveness. When I commit a sin I regret doing I need only to pray two raka'at to the Most Forgiving Then I am thus forgiven  and can strive to be a good Muslim.   The whole night and dawn is an open chance For me to pray Tahadjud even just once A time when Allah comes down on our land Asking, "Who seeks forgiveness so I may forgive him? Who seeks for help so I may help him?"   The benefits of prayer go a multitude It has many rewards and can change our attitude It helps us remember Allah often To enjoin what is right and stay away from the f*******n.   But the most neglected prayer aside from fajr Is the one after the high noon, the praying of asr Only a true Muslim can fulfill it though If I can't then I am in deep woe.     As the angels who record our deeds leave our shoulders  And be replaced with the next assigned angels If they leave us as we do the asr prayer They report to Allah, "we left Your slave and he was praying."   In the grave and in the Day of Judgment Our prayers will be our light, our shade and our helpers So if there's one thing you should never fail to do It is to bow down in prayer and make sujood.   Wudu cleanses not just our body But also wash away the sins we may have unknowingly So isn't prayer so amazing for everyone? Truly what a loss if we miss even just one. *And Allah knows best. May Allah guide us. Ameen. Allahu akbar!*
