Ojukwu tried to reach the slave ship by swimming faster. He felt something knock him underneath the water. He groped frantically and held on to a dead body, which was swiftly snatched by a shark. He was terrified. He was swimming in a sea of blood. He saw a white shark circle round and came at him opening its terrifying wide jaws full of long spikes of white teeth. He tried to dive but the shark struck him at high speed and swam away with him clutched in its powerful jaws. He remembered the chorus “where our ancestors are waiting…” as everything suddenly went pitch dark.
