Missionaries penetrated the most remote areas by building churches, schools, health clinics and at times hospitals. They taught the primitive African savages basic hygiene of washing their hands before eating food. Taught them never to eat uninspected meat. The missionaries taught them to build pit latrines and never s**t in the bushes and rivers. Taught them never to share drinking containers before cleaning them; never to drink raw animal blood; boil milk before drinking it; stop taking snuff and alcohol; stop marrying many wives and having many children; stop inheriting wives; and above all stop female genital mutilations, among a host of other “dos, don’ts and never”.
