**** Evony’s Pov ****
Knowing this heartache would only grow worse the further they are away from me, I halted them.
“Wait, I’m sorry I do not check my own mail, I can’t have my manager asking about you all, but I wish to create something that can bind us together before you leave.”
The icy blond smirked, “I thought you were tired.”
“I have enough energy for this, also you will all be helping me, so you may feel slightly sleepy after this. I want to do this. Allow me.” I pleaded.
He looked surprised at my humbled voice and only nodded his head, giving out his arm the way I requested from the air elemental earlier. The rest remained silent and in unison did the same, forming a circle around me. Effortlessly we fit together, I mused.
Drawing from their cores, using earth, I got palladium mixing with ruthenium to strengthen, using water and fire to mould them into hand bands for us all, using air to quickly cool. They were simple, as I did not have time to design anything more, but they were special in the bond, as it was the first time we all cooperated depending on and trusted the other. It was symbolically beautiful. A token for each of them and myself.
By the time I was done, I truly was exhausted now, and they looked a bit worn. It was worth it, my heart declared. They had their mouths open staring at the bands. Only my sardonic water boy seemed to know just how precious the metal I used was, so I smiled and winked at him, finally gaining not only an appreciative look from him, but a genuine smile that lit up his entire face.

“Now boys, please note that there are men and women who have worked their entire lives, cashed in their four o’ one k’s , their life savings and life insurance and still be unable to buy an ounce of what these bands are made of,” Connor warned the others, “So be careful with it.” Then shocking Evony further, by winking back.
“Soooooo, never let the adults in our lives near it, or lie and say it was a banged-up-piece of car I found on the ground,” Brennon grumbled. Evony’s resolve to say goodbye then and there nearly cr@cked. Knowing how dark his home life was, she wanted to hold him, but stopped herself, knowing that the touch would definitely make her abscond with them immediately. Instead she only nodded a yes with a sad smile.
“Well, it’s a good thing you didn’t make ‘em pretty or anything. I live in a group home. Most of those kids sell anything that they believe is valuable.” Addanon informed them unconsciously of his dismal home life as well.
“I would like to thank you on behalf of all of us for these priceless keep sakes,” Devion, ever the gentleman, said kindly, while glaring at the others, who in turn relayed their thanks one by one.
Cannon then queried quite hesitantly, much unlike himself, unsure, “I know they are invaluable as my Dad is a jewellery designer and only works with precious rare metals, but not sure of their properties. Are any of them by chance capable of healing….” He trailed off looking annoyed at himself for asking or hoping, whatever the reason, Evony wished to answer.

“Whoever you wish to heal, just have him,” pointing at the jock like boy, “Touch the person,” she then addressed the elemental in question, “Place your hands on any pulse point and believe in yourself, most importantly, and think heal.”
“As simple as that?” he asked, seeming bewildered. “Yuuu-P,” I replied. “Well, alright, I’ll try.”
“I………” my suddenly shy water elemental stuttered…… “Thank you.”
“Now there are some things even we can’t do or undo, so please do not expect this to be permanent regarding the severity of the situation okay?” she gently explained.
He signalled that he understood, looking determined and cautious all at once.
“Okay, fates you must go…..” I bid goodbye, dashing into my dressing room holding my arm with the bracelet on it, to my chest and burst out in tears. Why, why was this so hard? I just hope I did the right thing. They may not have the best lives, but I am sure none of them were ready to give up all that they are, to be attached and obedient to a complete stranger. They are too young to understand. They did not grow up like I did. No, I am sure I did the right thing. They will be more receptive once they have had the opportunity to be free for a while. I continued the reassurances, while rocking from side to side, in a futile attempt to comfort myself.

**** On the other side of the door, Third Party Pov ****
Devion tugged the others and gestured for them to follow him to behind the large ocean-like prop, capable of hiding them. The reason for this was that he saw a huge man, headed that way. Remembering Brennon saying Evony was speaking with a lumberjack, he could only assume this guy was her manager and she worked hard to make sure they weren’t all seen by him and did not wish to undo it all. In turn, making her mad.
They all crouched down, watched him knock on the door and try the handle, only to hear her muffled voice informing him she was meditating and wished to be left alone until the end of the show. Weirdly, he bowed, said something definitely not in English and went away. Most adults they knew would have demanded entrance.
“Phew, guess we were cutting it close, huh?” Devion said, watching the mammoth of a man walk away. Super graceful though, he thought.
“Alright, I need a back story, an excuse and a way to introduce you to my Dad, like soon,” Cannon suddenly said.
“Urgggghhhh why?” Brennon asked, looking slightly awkward. The adults in his life aren’t very friendly or reliable, so he is quite cautious of them.
“Well, for one, I have been gone way too long, even to take a dump. Plus, he will know immediately what this is," referring to and dangling his hand with the bracelet,"as he is pretty much a slave to rear unique finds. To be honest, I think that’s why he married my Papa,” Cannon attempted to joke. Met with slightly widened eyes and imaginary chirping crickets, he reverted to his more ice-like persona immediately.
“I need Addanon to do what Evony instructed.”
Addanon looked at him completely horrified, “Your Dad is the one you want to heal? You trust me to do that? Plus, you want me doing that like now?”
“When else then?” Cannon responded, frustrated with his questions, reminding him, “You have to believe in yourself, remember. Please, I need you to at least try. I am not one to believe in fairy tales or magic. What she just did, what led us to her, the brief moment when we were all connected, those were nothing short of miracles. I need one for my Dad,” with his head bowed fighting back tears, thinking of when the doctor gave the diagnosis that not only changed all their lives, but gave his Dad, the person who made him human, the person who didn’t deserve the pain, a death sentence. He begged, “Addanon, I need you to try, he doesn’t have much time left. The severity may be too much to reverse, but if you can at least ease some of his suffering, I will be grateful.” Thinking of the times he would sneak into his parents' room, Papa was away for work, seeing his Dad suffering from sweats and groaning in his sleep. He would get a washcloth and dab at it carefully, as not to wake him, listening to him call for his husband in his sleep. Cannon just wanted him to feel peaceful in his last few months. He wasn't expecting or hoping for too much. He was far too logical for that. The if, is what is motivating him, if it works, he won't be in so much pain, or too tired to teach Cannon a new song on the piano, or to teach him how to cook another dish. They could enjoy their last moments together, the way they always did.
Addanon was not only taken aback by this seemingly strong kid, begging for his help, but he looked almost defeated by grief and could only say, “Yes. I will do my best. I don’t have parents, but I am sure he must be a really great one for you to actually become a fountain, over,” chuckling at his own lame joke, causing the others, even Cannon to giggle slightly.
“Okay, so you need the witch doctor over there, why do we have to go as well?” Brennon asked his burning question, referring to himself and Devion, who nodded in agreement.
“Isn’t it obvious, I need sidekicks. That little pixie used us like battery packs just now, maybe with you guys around I really could, you know, make a difference for his dad,” Addanon reasoned out.
“Well, that makes sense, I guess. He won’t be suspicious that you suddenly have three new friends. Might I add from minority race groups, plus it can be seen we aren’t exactly in your country club,” Devion self-consciously stated.
"Firstly, my Dad is the last person you need to worry about, concerning those things. He is great and to be honest, if I were to relay the truth to him, he would probably smile and say what an adventure,” rolling his eyes imagining his parent’s childlike curious personality, smiling, “He might only be mad, that he can’t see our elements dancing around.”
“You’re joking, right? We are the ones experiencing it and I still can’t believe it!” exclaimed Brennon, as they all made their way out from backstage. Walking with Cannon and Devion more to the front, Brennon and Addanon resisted the urge to keep docking every time they saw staff members around.
“No, he has always been a bit………… well, Papa says he calls it fantastical, it’s why he is such a great designer, his imagination and belief in the unknown knows no bounds,” Cannon beamed. Praising his Dad has always been one of his favourite topics, simply because he was always there for him, listened to him and was an all-round wonderful person.
“He sounds too good to be true,” Brennon said quietly. His experience with adult males equaled pain and disgust.
“Well, I agree with you, but he has always been there for me. Now, trying, is the least I can do for him,” Cannon gently stated.
“How will you explain to your teachers and classmates,” Cannon suddenly remembered they were all there on a field trip.
“No reason to worry on my side, my appointed seat buddy, desperate for my friendship, will tell the teacher about my major bowel movements, plus I’m a model student. They won’t think anything too fishy,” informed Addanon.
“Mine wouldn’t care once I showed up to the bus on time,” Brennon dismissed his worry.
Devion said, “I’m with Bren on this one, the teachers at my school only care about the head count.”
Feeling quite torn between being upset that the educators of the public system were so cavalier in their duties, and being happy that he could use it to his advantage, Cannon declared then, “Well great, you guys can come to the balcony with me, meet my Dad, Addanon, you can do your thing and we will enjoy the rest of the show together.”
“You want us to stay, after?” Devion queried.
“Of course, that is if you all want to. My Papa had booked the entire thing. It would be fun to have the company,” Cannon replied, feeling a bit odd. On one hand, he had never needed company before, but separating from them wasn’t something he wanted at the moment, plus his Dad would like to see him with them. He wasn’t exactly a social child.
They all agreed, slipping into the hallway and walking towards the staircase leading to the balcony.
