Chapter 13 A meeting of all the people working for the hospital had been called for noon of the following Thursday. Everyone dragged in, totally wiped out by the work they’d done for the last seven days. Many had not had more than a couple hours sleep each day. “How’s she doing?” The speaker’s eyes were on Joyce. “She’s fighting it, but she’s getting easier to handle.
