“It was her?” Norma exclaimed.
“Yes. It was definitely her. She said ‘You’ve got to get me out of here. There’s something wrong going…’ then the phone went dead. It wasn’t long enough to get a trace and there was no caller ID.” Craig had seen that tracing equipment was hooked up to Maggie’s phone.
“But she’s still alive! And it sounds like she didn’t go voluntarily…or at least knowing what she was doing.” Norma sat back and closed her eyes in relief.
Maggie nodded. “Now if we just knew where! I’ll call Craig and let him know we heard from her. Maybe some of his people have found something.”
“I hope so, Maggie,” Norma said, shaking her head. “This is driving us all insane.”
Maggie nodded her head in agreement. The past seven days had been hard on everyone.
