“Cameron!” Eddie slid into the chair opposite her. “Where you been? I was looking for you all day yesterday!”
“Give it a rest, Eddie. I doubt she knows who you are,” Joyce interrupted him.
“It worked, huh?” Eddie dropped his nervous-schizoid persona and became the bright young man he really was. “Do you know who I am, Cameron?” he asked, looking into Cam’s face.
Cam looked away. It still wasn’t right. She thought she might recognize him, but she had no idea where she knew him from. Her face remained impassive. No form of recognition showed in her eyes.
