Chapter 24
When Kurt and Pauly pulled into Lori’s driveway, they were met by two men in dark clothing, FBI was written in Day-Glo yellow across their backs. Once their government identification was verified, they parked the car and walked up to the front door. It opened before they could knock.
“Pauly!” Lori exclaimed as she hugged him tightly. “I’m so happy you’re here! Come on in,” she opened the door wider and hurried Pauly and Kurt into the house. “You must be Kurt,” she said warmly as she took his hand.
“And you must be Lori. I’d recognize you anywhere.” Kurt smiled as he squeezed her hand.
“Oh, dear,” Lori frowned. “Do we still look that much alike?”
Kurt smiled and nodded. Cam was thinner and just a bit older, but the family resemblance was striking.
