Chapter 5: Finally

Aiden Scott’s P.O.V

Today everyone from the pack is busy doing tasks for Catherine’s birthday. She wants everything to be perfect. Last month she asked me for permission to do a big party for her birthday and of course, I told her she could. She also asked me if she could invite one of her close friend who is a human but knows about our kind. I told her she could only if she is sure that it's safe us and she told me that there’s was nothing to worry about. I believe in her judgment so I'm not worried at all. She has been telling me about how excited she is for me to meet her friend. According to her, her friend would be my perfect match if she wasn't a human. I’m not against humans but they can't be alpha's mates. I haven’t ask Catherine her friend’s name but from what she has told me so far I can tell she is a great friend to her.  

Before Catherine and Max discovered they were mates when she turned 18 Catherine and I were friends. Now that they know they are mates makes me see her more often since she's the female beta of my pack which is great that has made us closer than we were before. She was a really good friend of mine and now that she is my beta's mate makes her like a best friend of mine. I have many close friends but they are practically all guys and it's not because I have somethings against have female friends it's just they want something more than friendship and that is something I can't have. I'm waiting for my mate and that won't change for a random fling.  

I get to the pack’s house and enter the dining room to have lunch. I woke up late and didn’t have breakfast this morning so now I’m starving. 

Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of work and I’ve been trying to finish it all so I can have some free time at least 4 days of no big work. The few paperwork that I still have I can finish it before the party tonight. Hopefully, that gets me to relax from work a little. I should rely more on other members of the pack and Max. I tend to do everything on my own and that makes me have so much work. I should go out more and enjoy myself more instead of staying all day in my office.

One of the workers comes to serve my meal and then takes her leave. “Good evening alpha.” I turn to see Catherine entering the room. I’ve told her so many times to call me by my name only but she still insists to call me “Alpha”. She sometimes calls me just by my name but that’s rare. 

“Good evening, how’s the birthday girl?” That brightens her face and puts a big smile on it. “Super great and excited for tonight.” I give her a side hug and she then sits in front of me. We make little conversation here and there when later on comes Max and sits by her side. “Hey, guys.” He kisses Catherine on her temple and hugs her. I'm happy they have each other they make a great match.

They get their lunch served and we keep talking and having a great time. I should do this more often instead of loading myself of work. By the time we finish our meal, we decide to finish what we had to finish for the day to have the night to celebrate. I make my way to my office. 

later that day

After finishing my work for the day I head to my bedroom to shower and get ready for the party. It starts in an hour or so, there’s still much time left but I don’t want to be late. Well, I don't to and I don't have to.  

Being the alpha of a pack I have to be at the entrance of where the party will be held to greet the guest as well as Catherine since it’s her party. In each event I have to do that, it’s a tradition for us werewolves. Every alpha does that and if he doesn't it’s seen as a sign of disrespect and indifference towards his guest and the society. It's also a way to make the guest feel invited and welcomed. If in an event I don't show up at the entrance it could also cause a misunderstanding and I don't want for anything in the world to cause that. Being an alpha holds many responsibilities we have an image to show so any small mistakes could become a big one. The news in our world spread fast. And news go by fast to the council that makes the small mistake a huge one. Thanks to the Moon Goddess I've never had any problem with the council and I tent to keep it that way.     

In the pack, we always held parties, ceremonies or big reunions in a big room that is in the back of the packhouse. I’m proud to say that we have a big territory to have many different things on it. For example, we have so many things like a big gym for training, a pool area, a party/event room like I've said earlier, a daycare for the pups and we recently put up a kindergarten which makes me proud. I'm thankful for the pack that I have I've made so many things but I obviously couldn't have done it without my pack members.

Id don't why but I feel like tonight will be perfect. That tonight will be a special one. Luke sure is excited. I can feel him getting all happy and jumpy. 

Maya Rodriguez’s P.O.V

Tonight it’s Catherine’s birthday party, it’s in her pack and that makes me nervous. I know in the party I would feel like an outcast. Like it’s a pack full of wolf and they all know each other event if there will be wolves from other packs they all know and are familiar with each other. That's what Catherine has told me when she called me to invite me and I told her my concern. 

Her pack it’s at 4 hours drive from my house so after the party I’m planning to stay there for 3 days because it’s far and I want to spend more time with the girls. I also want to get to know more about their world and how it all works. I just hope everyone will be nice to me.

This summer the girls and I have been spending a lot of time together and I got to meet Catherine’s and Lily’s mate. They were both super nice to me, I didn’t feel left out and that felt great. 

Lily and her mate Nick will be picking me up for the party. Catherine wanted to come pick me up herself but I told her that she could not like how could she come if she's the birthday girl. She should be at her party with the guest. 

I have a little suitcase that has all of the things I will be taking there already prepared. Now I’m about to get ready I enter the bathroom to take a shower. I just hope I won't take forever like always. After a super long 15 minutes shower, I finally get out of the bathroom to put on some clothes. I already have an idea of what I will be wearing to the party but we never know it happens a lot that at the last minute I change my mind and wear something else not what I had planned to put on.

For the party I will be wearing a black V neck long sleeves jumpsuit it open at the back, it has sparkles all over it and it’s super short. I wish it was longer at the bottom it goes under my butt cheeks, I hope it’s not too much. When I asked Catherine what would be appropriate to wear she told it didn’t matter but she commented on how female werewolves were revealing for parties and that my outfit is perfect. 

With the whole outfit put up together, I look at myself in my body length mirror and I like how it turned out. Something that happens to me way too much is that I imagine an outfit in my head like how I will look on it and all but when I put it on it looks horrible so I have to change that's why I always start preparing earlier so I won't be late where I'm going. 

Sitting on my vanity to do makeup, I not a fan of makeup but I’m not bad at it. I see like I'm drawing on my face weird way to put it but that's how I see it. I decide to put black eyeshadow so my eyes pop out and will match perfectly with my outfit. I usually put lighter colours but for today I will do it this way. For my hair I just let my curls free deciding not to do anything with it. Everything came out better than I expected. 

I finish earlier since everything came out together so I decide to scroll through my phone for the remaining time. After 20 minutes I receive a text message from Lily saying she will be here in 5 minutes to pick me up. I reply to her and then look through my suitcase to verify that I have everything I need for the twentieth time today. Looking at myself for the last time to see that everything is perfect. 

Satisfy with my look I go downstairs to say goodbye to my family. “Te ves hermosas my niña bella.” (You look gorgeous my beautiful daughter.) I look at my mom’s teary eyes. “Para Mami me vas a hacer llorar.” (Stop it, mom, you will make me cry.) She always is like that when she’s happy for me. My mom knew how much I struggled back in Canada and seeing how here has made me happy she feel happy as well. She’s happy that I made amazing friends and that I’m more open. She’s happy that I laugh and smile more. I give her a hug and then Alex. “Take care.” José tells me while hugging me. “I will.” I smile at my family. 

A loud car horn is heard. “That must be Lily and Nick, I should get going. See you on Wednesday.” I wave at them opening the door. I see Nick’s blue car in front of my house. Marching towards the car I wave at them.

Entering the car I greet both of them. “Hey, guys!” Putting on my seat belt and smiling at them that are looking at me. “Hey!” Nick wave at me and then starts driving, Lily give me her biggest smile. “Hey! You look, hot girl!” I blush and murmur thanks while looking out the window. 

4 hours later

“We are near the pack’s territory” Lili looks back at me and smiles at me. I return the smile and then keep looking outside, even tho it’s late and dark I love the scenery around here. This part of town is beautiful, I always preferred the town over the city. I do love the city but this is way better. I like the freedom you can have here. 

It’s currently 10 pm and the party has already started like two hours ago which is not bad, I don’t like to be one of the first to arrive at a party. I don't know why like I'm somebody that likes to be on times but not to parties and I have no idea why. Anyone who can relate? 

Through the car window, I see a sign and I read out despite not see much cause of how dark is it outside "Welcome to Red Stone", we are near the packhouse I suppose. I feel butterflies in my stomach, why am I feeling like this? It's just a party nothing more it's not like I'm meeting the president. I hate that I get nervous about everything but this feels different than what I usually feel like I’m about to face a change in my life. I'm getting too many ideas like it's not like I’m going on a date. Maybe it’s because I’m nervous about what the others will think of me, will they like me or not? Will they be uncomfortable with my presence. I don’t want to put anyone uncomfortable. That’s not my intention at all. I should probably take a deep breath and try to calm my nerves. 

“In five minutes we are there.” I nod and look up at the front I want to see everything even though it's dark. Catherine told me she will give a tour around here she’s excited to show me where she grew up. From what I see I can tell I will like it here, I want to enjoy my stay here as much as possible. I wanted to stay more than 3 days but my mom didn’t want to, she still sees me as a 5-year-old. I wish she could see that I finally grew up, I’m already a young woman. That I know what I'm doing that I know how to make my own decisions. 

In front of us is a big gate with what sees like guards, that must be warriors patrolling the entrance. Lily has told me a lot about them since her mate is one himself. All the girls have thankfully answered all my questions and made me understand more about them. The left window of the back goes down and guards look up to me and nod. I do the same and the car moves forwards, I suppose they stop to verify for securities measures. A mansion appears and makes my eyes widen out of shock, it’s gigantic. How can a house be that big? It’s probably because many live there but that doesn’t make it less shocking. We get past the house and park a little further, getting out of the car I look around. Even in the dark, I can see many houses and other places that I can tell that are locals probably they have many for activities. I can tell there's a lot of space here. I love it here, in one of the local, is where the party is held. I can see the lights and I can hear the music from where I’m standing. At the entrance I see persons drinking or smoking and talking, they all seem to have fun. These people know how to party. 

“Everything okay?” Lily ask startling me. “Yeah, I was just looking around.” I smile and follow them. I left my bag in the cars it will only be a burden. I only have Catherine's present and my purse in my hands. While getting near the entrance of the lounge, I see the others looking at me probably knowing I’m human by my scent. Catherine has told me that wolves have a high sense of smell. 

Opening the doors makes the music sound even louder than before, there are so many persons in this place. It’s so spacious from outside you can see how big it is but that doesn’t do justice to how big it is. This place is awesome. They surely do all their events here it's perfect for it. 

Out of nowhere, I feel a body crashing me into a bear hug. “You’re finally here.” I push the person to see their face, it’s Catherine. I hug her and scream in her ear because the music is too loud. “Happy Birthday!” 

“Thank you!” I give her her gift. “Hope you like it.” 

“I’m sure I will." We smile at each other. "Wait how did you know I was already here if I just got here?" 

"Your scent and Lily mind linked me to tell me you were here." She replies watching me like I just asked the dumbest question in the world. I'm not that brilliant tho. 

 "Come I will introduce you to the Alpha.” She smiles at me and takes my arm dragging me to God knows where. We try to pass through many bodies dancing, with these many people we won’t make it to our destination today. How many persons are in here? 

After what’s feels like forever we get to what is like a mini stage I could say and there they are, 5 men, talking to each other one seems distracted like he's not paying attention to what the others are saying. It seems like he's looking for someone on the crowd or something like that. He gives me a strong vibe, he must be their alpha that’s for sure. The way he stands and how strong he is, how can someone look that good. I haven’t seen his face because his back is facing me but I can bet he is extremely handsome. 

A slower song plays letting me hear well. “Alpha Aiden, here is my friend the one I’ve talked to you about. Maya this is the Alpha of our pack, Alpha Aiden.” He slowly turns around and that leaves me shocked at how handsome he is. How can someone be that how can I see it perfect? How can he look like a God that came directly from heaven? When I get out of my daydreaming state I look up at him in the eyes.  

He's giving me a look, I can’t decipher the look but the one that he’s giving me is a strange one. Maybe it’s because I’m looking at him directly in the eyes. I’ve been told that Alphas are dominant that they like to feel like they are higher than others maybe that's why. And when someone looks at the in the eyes for long it’s like your disrespecting them. To stare at an Alpha it means to challenge them, like your defining them for their position or something like that from what I've been informed. I look down not wanting to cause trouble or confusion. 

I cannot help but look up at him again, my mom has always told me that my curiosity will get me in trouble. She's probably right but I can't do anything about it I'm way too curious. I feel like time has slowed down it's like everybody in the room has fated and there's just me and him in here. What's wrong with me? 

Through my eyes lashes, I observe him, now I can see it. It's like he's surprised to see me. Didn’t he know that Catherine invites me to come? He is looking at me like I’m some type of ghost. Do I look ugly? Is my makeup not pretty? I’m getting anxious, what’s going on? I’m about to open my mouth to start talking when he says something while looking at me in the eyes, that leaves all the ones near us in shock. “Mate” 

My purse falls off my hands. What? Mate? I surely hear that wrong, right? He couldn’t be saying that to me. I turn to see who he’s talking to but see no one I don't have time to process what just happened when I feel a handgrip on my right shoulder. “Hey princess you finally came. I must say you look gorgeous.” Turning around I see Jackson, he was in the same high school I was in. He’s super tall but not as tall as Aiden. Why did I just think that? Am being weird. One of his locks fall on his forehead, his dark brown hair look messy but great. We became friends in my PE class, he was being nice and approached me to make me feel comfortable. We've talked in some of our classes together and got to know each other a little he's super friendly which makes it easy to talk to him.   

A loud growl is heard in the room make many freeze in their place. I look up at Aiden in front of me with fear, is he mad? Will he attack me? I knew coming here wasn’t the best idea. I suddenly don’t feel Jackson's hand on my shoulder anymore instead a mass of muscles wraps my body making me feel extremely small. I sense a hot breath in my ear making me quiver, why are my legs feeling like giving up?  ”Mate, you are mine.” I feel his nose on my neck, he sniffs my scents and then let out a growl. Is he doing that? I back off a little to look at him in the eyes I'm suddenly in a trace. His chocolate eyes make me want to stare at them forever. Am I in a dream right now? 

”Are you sure Aiden?” Ask Catherine that is near me, that seems shocked as I am. 

Aiden places his forehead on mine and keeps looking at me like he can’t believe I’m here right in front of him. I smile at him and he does the same. I suddenly feel super shy. “I’m Maya.” 

His smile gets bigger. “That’s a pretty name for a beautiful girl. I’m Aiden.” I blush and look away and that makes him chuckle. “You’re so cute.” That makes me blush even more, I tap him on his chest for him to stop. “We are still here guys in case you forgot.” 

I cough and pull away from Aiden making him frown. “Right, sorry.” I am surely redder than a tomato at this moment. What just happen? 

Aiden Scott’s P.O.V

His side of meeting Maya

The party’s been going on for two hours or so, I’ve welcomed many guests. I didn’t think Catherine was serious when she said many will attend the party. I thought it will be less than this but it doesn’t matter everyone is having a good time. Through the party, I’ve been meeting wolves from other packs that Catherine meet when she was in school. I talked to some pack members making conversation as the time has gone by.  When I decide that it was enough of greeting at the entrance I haven’t seen Max he's has been following his mate everywhere. 

Luke gets hyped up, he keeps turning through my head since this morning. He says something I wasn’t expecting at all. “Mate” I take a big breath and then this amazing smell hits me. She’s here, she’s in the pack's grounds. I march to the stage we have in here to give a better view of everyone in here. I’m focused on the crowd when Max, Alexander, Mike and Cameron climb the stairs to get on the stage thing. “Hey, Aiden, what’s up? Everything okay?” Max frowns seen me so focused on watching the crowd. “My mate is within the pack’s ground.” Their eyes widen not expecting that. “That’s great men!” Cameron gives me a bro hug and then others do the same. “I’m nervous.” I’m not afraid of telling them how I feel these guys have been by my side since I was a little kid we've all grown up together. These guys are my brothers. “Hey men it’s okay, everything will be good don’t worry.” They all know how I feel they have already met their mates and have been through the same. They keep giving me words of support. Distracting me a little bit from what I was doing.

A voice interrupts the conversation the guys were having. “Alpha Aiden, here is my friend the one I’ve talked to you about. Maya this is the Alpha of our pack, Alpha Aiden.” I turn around and I freeze. Right in front of me is the most beautiful creature I’ve seen in my 26 years of life. Her beautiful long hair strands over her shoulder, her outfit making all the other women look ridiculous compare to her. She looks at her feet and then looks up at me through her lashes. And that makes my legs feel wicker, her beautiful blues eyes leave me speechless they are perfect. I could recognize them anywhere, those are the eyes I’ve been dreaming about for the past 9 months. I keep looking at her wanting to see every detail of her. She has a little nose which is cute and lips are perfect. Her kissable lips making me want to kiss her nonstop. She's perfect and she's mine.

I can’t believe I’ve found my mate what is more surprising is that she isn’t a wolf, she’s a human. How is this possible? Without realizing my mouth talking by itself. “Mate” That makes her purse fall off her hands and eyes widen out of shock. She turns to look behind her and then takes her previous position. 

“Hey princess you finally came. I must say you look gorgeous.” Jackson, one of the warriors, says to her while putting a hand on her shoulder making me glare at him. I will kill him if he doesn’t get his hand off my mate at this moment. I let out a loud growl making those around me freeze in their positions. My mate gives me a look, she scared I don’t want my mate to be scared of me. I walk to her pushing Jackson’s hand from her shoulder and wrapping her little body with my arms. I feel sparkles all over my body, her touch is delightful. Putting my mouth on her ear, breathing loudly I say for her only to listen. ”Mate, you are mine.” I then let my nose roam around her neck sniffing her amazing scent, she smells so good. I let out a growl feeling happy about having her in my arms. Her scent and presence calms me and my wolf down. She pushed me a little to look at me directly in the eyes her eyes make me want to stare at them until she gets tired of it.

“Are you sure Aiden?” From the voice, I can tell that Catherine spoke just now. I give her a nod and then place my forehead on my mate’s forehead. I keep looking at her scared that all of this will be just a dream. She’s to perfect to be real. She looks up at me giving me a smile making me smile as well. “I’m Maya.” Maya, I love it. My smile gets bigger. “That’s a pretty name for a beautiful girl. I’m Aiden.” She blushes and looks away probably feeling shy, I chuckle at how cute she is. “You’re so cute.” And that makes her blush even more. She taps my chest for me to stop and that makes my heart feel complete. I love seeing her smile, I want to make her the happiest woman on this earth. “We are still here guys in case you forgot.” Says Nick pulling us out of our moment. Maya coughs and pulls away from me making me frown. “Right, sorry,” she says getting redder than before. 

I’ve found her. I’ve found my mate.
