I could try to analyze why I was dreaming of Jasper, or why he made for the most comfortable bed. Or how continuing the honeymoon into the morning made me crave more of him. Or even how his sudden disappearance from my bedroom felt like rocks found a new home in my chest, staying long after I heard the front door shut. But I won’t. Instead, I go about my day, fighting not to lose myself in the memories of last night—in the way Jasper’s expert hands and magic played me. Or in how I’m stupid for resisting him at all. I’m married.
