Questions and Nightmares

***Emily's Point of view*** The day kept repeating itself in my mind. Two different people mentioned something about my parents. If another couple were looking for me why not come to me directly? Why send strangers to do the job? Uncle Ferdinand realised something was up the moment I didn't come to help with supper and I couldn't even muster the courage to wear a smile in front of him. Nico tried asking me what was going on but I blanked him out. He didn't need to be dragged into this problem and besides after what happened between us in the café I didn't want to add hormones to the mixture of confusion. I wanted to tell someone but also I didn't want to because that would mean they'd have to get involved into all these problems and right now I don't believe it is necessary enough for that yet.  ***Nico's Point of view***  I knew something was up with Emily the minute she walked back into the café but she wouldn't talk to me about it. She tried to hide the fact that she wasn't to disturbed by what had happened today but I could see right through her disguise. When she didn't come down to help with supper my dad and I knew something serious was going on. The last time she didn't help with supper was the weeks after her parents' death. It was the time I dreaded most because I was scared of losing her, she went into a stage of depression and my dad tried everything until one day he sent her to the grief counsellor. Her light came back soon after but my dad and I were always concerned that something would make her light dim again.  I was on my edge all day because of that stupid guy that spoke to her. I know she won't let go what he said. If I didn't need to sit detention tomorrow I would've arranged a day out of town. Just so that she could breathe a bit again after today.  I slowly walk to her room and knock on the door softly. When there isn't an answer I walk in to find her fast asleep. I sit down gently and keep an eye on her. After the day she had, I expect her to have nightmares... ***Emily's Point of view***  Boom! A noise stirs me from my slumber...  There's screams coming from in the burning house! I run but a man captures me! "They are not your parents!" He bites out angrily. I break free only to be grabbed again by a woman with blonde hair the tips blue and red, "Hush, child all will be fine. Those posers deserve to die." I try to break free but another man appears and holds me down. I hear the last screams of the people I loved... I sit up tears streaming down my cheeks and just as I want to wipe them away another pair of hands are there to do the job. He pulls me into a hug and whispers sweet nothings into my ear as he rubs my back soothingly. I breathe in his scent and I feel my body relax slightly. Nico pulls away only to drag me back down to the pillow. Just as I'm about to protest he shakes his head and lies down indicating that he'll stay by me. I smile slightly relieved and lie down next to him. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me closer. A sense of safety falls over me and I stifle a yawn. "Just as I suspected," He whispers softly. His voice vibrates through his chest and I find it as good as a lullaby... ***Nico's Point of view***  I had just started drifting away when I heard her whimper. When I looked up and saw her shaking with silent tears I stood up ready for her to wake up and discover I was here. When she sat up, I rushed to her side and tried my best to wipe her tears and when I noticed that didn't work I hugged her and that's when I felt her body relax if only by a little.  I lay back down and saw the minute she was about to put up a fight. She was tired and I knew it. So I did the one thing I knew she couldn't resist. I lay down and patted the pillow beside me and she lay down. When I put my arms around me I feel her relax even more and before I realise it I pull her closer to me. The action not just relaxing her but me too. I couldn't help but think that I'm busy playing with fire. It didn't take me long to fall asleep to her melodic breathing... When had she become my lullaby?
