Emotions

***Blade's Point of View*** The visitation hours had just started when there was a knock on my door. I sat up curiosity suddenly pulsing through my veins. "Sorry, we would've come later but someone was a bit too eager." Nico apologizes. I smile as Uncle Ferdinand rushes in and hugs me tightly. A few pains make themselves known of. I try to cover the pain up by breathing but the monitor doesn't help. "Oh, sorry dear. I didn't mean to cause you harm." Uncle Ferdinand smiles sheepishly. "It's okay. I missed you so much too." "Did they catch the guy who shot at you?" "Yup. He is off the streets." I smile but the guilt burns in my stomach. Something in the way that Nico was looking at me, made me feel certain that he knew I was lying. I shrugged it off and got into an easy conversation with uncle Ferdinand. Luckily my parents reminded me what my cover story was, so I could easily make things up.  ***Nico's Point of View*** I wanted to leave the minute my dad started asking Emily about her new school. I could see straight through every little lie she told and the more she spoke to my dad the easier it seemed for her to lie. It made me sick. It made me angry because for the first time since I met her the other night, I could see how much she had changed. The girl I had loved was now a criminal and not any criminal a well feared gangster and murderer.  How could a person change so much in such a short time?  Something about me must have tipped her off that I was fuming because she looked at with confusion. A sudden want flooded over me. A wanted to kiss her with all my emotions so she could know how angry and betrayed I felt right now. But if I were completely honest with myself I wanted her to know how heartbroken I had been when she left, how confused I'd been and how alone I felt.  I still wanted her to want me and not that Jakk dude. I still wanted to be the guy she came to when she was in trouble but something told me she didn't need a superhero anymore. She had become her own hero, her own go to guy.   ***Blade's Point of View***  Nico kept staring daggers at the floor so I knew something was definitely bothering him. When uncle Ferdinand asked if I wanted something to eat, I nodded kindly and he left us behind. "What has your feathers ruffled?" "The fact that you can lie so easily without even batting an eye. Since when have you changed so much?" "Oh, I have changed? Sorry I forgot I was talking to the high and mighty Nighthawk. Please forgive me for changing after life threw so many hardships my way!" I replied sarcasm etched into every word. Nico walked closer as our argument grew heated.  Something told me we weren't just fighting over me changing anymore. Before I knew it though his lips were on mine. He kissed with a roughness I didn't know he had. The kiss between us a fight for dominance our tongues fighting to discover every possible place while battling our unsaid words.  Our kiss was the gateway to understanding each other. When we pulled away to capture our breaths Nico spoke quietly. "You almost died, Em's. They had tried more than once to resuscitate you. Did you stop to think what pain that would have caused the people who care about you?" "No, I didn't because I can't think like that anymore Nico. I'm a leader now and I'm out to protect kids like me. My parents knew the risk when they learnt about my true intentions." "What do you mean protect kids like you?" "I mean I'm taking them to their rightful parents. If their parents are still criminals the kids are put into my protection, so that the CIA and all the rest of the governments can't use the kids as leverage or abuse them anymore." Nico remained silent but I could see the minute he knew I was telling the truth because his entire face lit up. He kissed me again but this time it was tenderly, showing me he still loved me after all this time.  *                                                                                         *                                                                                     * All was calm and peaceful.
