Chapter 8

1701 Words
“Hey Alec, I just wanted to let you know that I’m currently in Blue Moon Territory on the other side of the waterfall. Don’t worry I’m fine and I’ll back soon to explain everything. You’re in for a big surprise.” Dom says through the voicemail he left to his best friend. Seeing as he was so busy with his Alpha duties, Alec couldn’t answer the call. ‘But hmm big surprise? What does he mean by big surprise? What the hell is going on?’ Alec mentally comments. ‘Well let’s see what we can find about Blue Moon.’ Derek suggests. Seems like that’s the only option Alec has to find some real answers until he can sit and have a little chat with Dom. Being the descendant of a powerful Alpha has its perks. Like how Alec’s father has kept files about every known pack in America and other varies parts of the world that he’s encountered. ‘Hmm Blue Moon…... I’ve heard something about that pack before.’ ‘But where and what are the real questions.’ Derek replies. As the young Alpha searches through the file cabinet that’s supposed to contain the Blue Moon file. But once he finds it, more than half of the file is missing. ‘Hmm that’s odd, something is not right about this. Now you definitely need to find everything you can about Blue Moon.’ Derek remarks. Alec couldn’t agree more with him, something is going on here and he intends to find out what. Well obviously, the first step would be to find the other half if this file. But where could it possibly be? ‘Hmm didn’t Dom’s dad have some pack files stored in his office too when he was Beta?’ Derek mentions. As soon as he mentions that a light bulb literally lights up in his head. Because there are so many packs and seeing as their information hasn’t digitally updated yet, the last Beta’s office has some file cabinets stored, filled with the rest of the pack files. This pack and the house itself are full of surprises. Seeing as decades ago this pack house was just a spot of land, that was until my ancestors immigrated here and started forming what is now known as the Dark Crescent Pack. So, most of these files date back to 3000 B.C. and the pack house dates possibly around the same time. maybe even further back than that. Throughout the years, the pack house and its furniture have been modernly updated up to the point where my father’s old office and the late Beta Torres’ remain intact. Before Alec officially became Alpha, he had plans to build his own office and of course one for Dom too in another area of the house. So that the former Alpha and Beta had their offices intact. Most of the important things that an Alpha will need in his office were removed from his father’s office to his own. As did the important things for the Beta in Dom’s case. Instead of continuing with their legacy of using the same as the late Alpha and Beta, Alec wanted his own space away from the awful memories that his father left behind, not only in that office but in the general area. And well Dom has his own opinions about his father’s office. But Alec seems to think that if Dom would’ve used his father’s office, he would’ve gone mad. Being in his shoes, Alec would’ve gone mad, trying to link all the missing pieces as to what really happened all those years ago. To this day nobody really knows the real reason behind what happened to the late Beta Daniel Torres. But the young Alpha is quite certain that his parents knew what really happened, it only makes sense seeing as they were the Alpha and Luna of the pack. And of course, Riley, Dom’s mom should know what really happened to her mate. But seeing as it was so long ago, it seems no one wants to continue to duel the past. Anyways back to the more important things, like finding out where the hell is the other half of this Blue Moon file. ‘Ugh this is going to be a long day.’ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Meanwhile back in Blue Moon territory, the young Female Alpha, her mate, and her Beta were having a nice quiet dinner between the three. “So, Dominic tell us a bit about yourself.” Casey says as they eat dinner in the private dining room that they have for high ranked members only. “Umm like I mentioned earlier when I introduced myself, I’m the Beta of the Dark Crescent Pack. I am 24. I’m an only child. My hobbies are staying active, reading and listening to music. I have one best friend who is the current Alpha of my pack, Alec Matthews. Umm I don’t know what else to say.” Dominic nervously answers as he takes small bites off his plate. ‘Stop interrogating him you i***t!’ Kat yells through their mind-link, Casey just ignores her. “So, what about your family?” “Well like I said, I’m an only child. My mom was the only one there to raise me. My dad left us when I was 3.” He replies with remorse as he plays around with his food. Casey and her big mouth strikes again. There had been a strange tension in the air after what was said. Oddly Casey observed Kat with strange behavior after Dominic’s statement about his father, but she couldn’t determine what is was that Kat was projecting. They ate in silence for a little while seeing as things got a bit awkward after the last question Casey asked Dominic. “Oh, you can call me Dom by the way everyone calls me that.” Dom comments cutting through the awkward tension. Kat lets out a muffled growl, trying to cover it up with a cough but of course, with werewolf hearing you can’t hide anything. It seems that she doesn’t like that everyone calls him Dom, in her mind she is the only deserving one of giving him a nickname. Sometimes Casey oddly enough feels like she can’t understand Kat and she’s Casey’s best friend. You would think that after practically growing up together that you would understand the person. But there are days where Casey sometimes thinks that Kat is from another planet or just becomes a completely different person. “Cariño I am not going to call you something that everyone else calls you.” Kat answers like a snob. Dom drops his fork loudly with a shocked look on his face and asks, “What did you just say?” “That I won’t call you what everyone else calls you?” Kat answers with a confuse question. Casey is feeling equally as confused by both of their behaviors. “No, the very first thing you said.” “Cariño?” He nods but gets lost in thought instead of replying. “Is there something wrong with that nickname? Kat asks. After a few minutes, he realizes that Kat asked him a question and replied, “Oh no its nothing, I just……it reminded me of something.” Knowing how Kat is Casey would’ve thought she would press more on the subject but shockingly enough she kept quiet and continues to eat. They once again continue to eat in silence until Dom’s phone rings and excuses himself to answer it. Katrina, of course, wants to know who is the one calling her mate, but tries not to be obvious about it. A few minutes later Dom comes back, stating that he must return to Dark Crescent immediately then thanks us for inviting him for dinner. He charges out before Kat or Casey could utter another word. Kat angrily gets up and marches to her office. ‘Well wasn’t that a lovely dinner.’ Faye, Casey’s wolf, sarcastically says. Casey couldn’t have said it any better. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “Hey, you called to talk about something important?” Dominic says breathlessly as he enters Alec’s office. “Hey, yeah. Have a seat.” Alec gestures to one of the chairs in front of his desk. Dom sits and waits for him to speak. “Well I want to ask you what you know about the Blue Moon Pack.” “Well nothing much, besides the rumors and stories that have been told about the late Alpha Santos and his family. But get this, the child that they left behind, it was a girl not a boy. And that girl happens to be my mate!” Dom says to him with the utmost excitement. “Wow man congrats!!” Alec stands up to give Dom a man hug. “Yeah, that’s the big surprise I was telling you about.” “Well Dom, you know you’re practically a little brother to me and I am doing this, not only for your protection, but for the pack’s too. I’m going to need you to stay away from Blue Moon Territory until we find further information about them.” Alec states seriously though he wishes it didn’t have to be this way. Dominic of course wanted to protest but he’s the Alpha and Dom must follow orders. So, he nods then gets up to go home instead of staying to chat more. ‘Geez today has been a long and dramatic day.’
