Her Possession

Chapter 16

Flashback

"Katrina Santos is an evil possessive hybrid that was out to destroy anything in the way of getting to you. And the only way to kill her was to kill you son because it turns out she really is you mate" Dr. Beckett explains.

"There must be a reason behind all of this?" Dominic tries to defend her, she's still his mate. But Dr. Beckett wouldn't have it.

"There isn't a good enough reason behind her evil doings!! Beckett yells, pacing back and forth in frustration.

"She did something to you didn't she? That's why you are convincing me how bad she may be, mate or not." Dom slowly realizes.

Beckett stops pacing with a grim look on his face. It looks like he is in a lot of pain but it's not the physical kind.

"She gave the order to hurt my family." Beckett weakly confesses, his voice cracks throughout the confession.

'There must be a be a reason behind all of this. We can't doubt our mate!! We have to talk to her.' Leo is in complete denial. Dominic understands his perspective, but he also understands Beckett's and his mom's.

‘What am I going to do? There is so much on my mind that I am at the point of insanity.’

'Why don't you take a nap? See if that will help you.' Leo suggests, which is a great idea. Dominic knows deep down, Leo is upset and doesn't want to talk to his human at the moment; But he doesn't have much of a choice.

So Dom listens to him and relax in bed for a nice long nap, hopefully it will help clear his head, so he can think things in a better state and figure out what to do. Dom opens his eyes to find himself in the woods, near the waterfall just like his last dream. But there's something different about this one.

"Hello young child." An unfamiliar yet mesmerizing voice greets from behind him. He jumps up in surprise, turning around to see the most glorious creature he’s ever seen.

"Who are you?" He has his suspicions of who she might be.

"I go by many names my young child, but to the creatures of the night and moon, such as yourself, I go by Moon Goddess." There she stands with hair as dark as the night sky with bright green eyes that glisten in the moonlight.

"Forgive me Moon Goddess." He pleas while bowing on his knees in respect.

"There is no need for you to plead forgiveness young child." She reassures him in the graceful way.

"May I ask as to why the visit? I'm no one special of such a visit by the one and only Moon Goddess." Dominic politely asks.

"Well my child, come and sit with me then I shall tell you the reason behind my unannounced and very unexpected visit." She sits on a fallen tree stump while patting the spot next to her. He immediately sits in that very spot, preparing himself for what's to come.

"Well I don't know a better way to explain this, but something chaotic is about to strike and only you can stop it young Dominic. And I know you are having strong doubts with the young Katrina but you must know that there is a reason behind everything. You two were paired together for a reason that is bigger than the Supernatural world. And I know you will make the right decision, my young child." She caresses him just like his mother would do as a pup when ever he was upset or frustrated, with the most soothing touch.

Before he can say anything, he suddenly wakes up in panic. He needs to talk to Kat, he seems to think that there might not be any other choice but to reject her, because if what the Moon Goddess said is true, then he will be too worried trying to protect Kat instead of fighting the chaos that is about to be in store. Leo is very upset and angry at his human’s decision but it's for the best.

Dom quickly shift once he’s outside in the woods, running as fast as he can to Blue Moon Territory.

30 minutes later

He has finally arrived to the Blue Moon Pack house. He knocks on the door, expecting his soon to be rejected mate to answer the door but instead Casey answers it.

"Hey Dom, here to see Kat?" She greets with a happy smile.

'Once she finds out what you're going to do, she won't be smiling anymore.' Leo grumbles.

"Umm…yeah something like that." Dom is currently feeling very nervous and seems to be doing a horrible job at concealing his emotions, Casey figures it out very quickly. She quickly grabs his arms and pulls him into a random room. The random room turned out to be the library.

"What the hell did you do?! Or what are you about to do?!" She angrily demands for answers.

He debates on whether he should lie to her, though the truth is going to be awful. So instead he stays quiet.

"So, you're going to stay quiet then hmm...Well then...let me tell you a little story maybe it will help you realize things before you do something you'll regret." She's pissed. Dom continues to stay quiet, curious to know about this "little story" that makes her think he will change his mind.

"Well once upon a time...." He interrupts her with an "are you serious" look, in return she gives him a "humor me" look and he stays quiet yet again, ready to listen to what she has to say.

"As I was saying.....once upon a time, many years ago, a little girl was born of the Alpha couple of Blue Moon. Everything was perfect up until that horrid day, the day of the accident, the very day that changed everything. That day, the young Female Alpha found out about the affair her father was having with another female that wasn't her mother. The mother of the Female Alpha was devastated, causing her to turn to drugs and alcohol to take away the pain. The Female Alpha's perfect life was no more. Not long after her father dies in a mysterious "rogue attack", which actually turned out to be his lover's true mate and a few of his pack members. Her mother couldn't take it anymore, in result she decides to overdose. After those horrific events, the young Female Alpha grew cold, unable to trust easily. Everyone had to obey her orders if not they were punished with death. The Beta of Blue Moon at the time, Blake Richards, was not only the original Alpha's best friend but also the Luna's brother. He was on an important mission, and once he found out about the affair and his young sister's death, he too turned to the dark side. The Beta had encouraged the Female Alpha into different bad situations, a lot of death occurred, and he soon realized that he created a monster. But it was too late to fix the damage he had caused. So you see Dominic, there is a reason behind why Kat is the way she is. They might not be good enough because she has done quite a lot of bad things but with the passing of my father and determination, she has changed a lot. She continues to do so even more, ever since she met you. Habits are hard to break but they do eventually break with time." Casey finishes her story.

And he will admit it did help a lot, it helps him understand better. It has him thinking about my dream visit with the Moon Goddess. Before Dom can say anything, someone opens the library door.

"Casey, I've been looking for you and supposedly we have a visitor. Why didn't you inform me?... Oh Dom..." Kat enters the room, at first, she's looking down at some papers in her hands then looks up and automatically notices her mate.

"I'm going to give you two some privacy." Casey states, squeezing his shoulder before exiting the room.

"I didn't expect you to be here. I've been meaning to contact you to tell you that I broke the spell with Rick and to apologize once again. But you know Alpha duties got in the way. I'm so sorry Cariño." She rants, walking towards where he is sitting.

Dom moves his chair so that his legs aren't under the table. That causes her to inch her way closer to him. He grabs her arm and pull her, so she is standing in between his legs. She grips his shoulders, gently massaging them as he does the same with his hands on her waist.

"Is something wrong?" She asks. Dominic sighs, how will he explain things without her freaking out?

"I think you should sit down before I explain anything."

She immediately sits where Casey was sitting earlier, he pulls her closer and grips her hands over the table.

"I know everything Kat."

"Everything?"

"Yes everything, the accident with your family, what happened between you and my parents..."

She tries to remove her hand from his grip but that only causes him to tighten his grip.

"Who told you?!" She angrily asks.

He takes a deep breath, "My father had a journal, and, in that journal, I learned a lot. So I took a trip to New Orleans to visit Dr. Oliver Beckett. He found me when he created a chat that I entered while doing some research, it had facial recognition that alerted him. When I went to New Orleans, we had a long chat. He strongly convinced me that you're an evil person. And I must confess that with all the bad things that I've heard about you and my dream visit with the Moon Goddess, I was originally going to reject you; But it was for your own safety." He shamelessly admits.

"My safety?! I'm not some damsel in distress, Dominic. I'm an Alpha and you should've talked to me instead of trying to make stupid ass decisions!" She angrily yells.

"I know and I'm deeply sorry. But like I said, I change my mind, with the story of the accident and the Moon Goddess telling me that we are paired up for a reason bigger than the Supernatural world. And I understand how you feel; I've never experienced what you had to go through, but I get it." He tries to defend himself.

She takes a deep breath then sits back down but when he goes to grab her hand once again, she pulls away.

"What did the Moon Goddess say in your dream? And you don't understand anything. Nobody will ever understand how I feel." She replies.

"She said that chaos is about to strike and that I'm the only one that can stop it." He answers. Kat sits there in silence, contemplating everything her mate just said. She suddenly gets up and is making her way out of the library, Dom of course follows her. She soon stops right in front of the main entrance.

"Dominic, I think you should go. I need some time to think over everything you've just told me. Don't worry, I am not mad anymore and I will call you tonight. I have more Alpha duties." That's all she says before walking away, not letting him say anything.

He currently feels like a lost puppy with his ears flopped down in defeat and his tail ticked between his legs. He does as she asks, but if she doesn't call him by tonight, he is planning to come back to Blue Moon, no matter how late it may be.
