The Oracle's Eye(short story)

Part Three

Everything was a blur.

She only focus with the two who was obviously a couple. Her heart was aching so much at the sight of the two. The back of the girl was familiar to her. But it was impossible. So she walked slowly towards them to see their faces but she was also caught off guard when the scene from the right side of street unfolds.

A girl who she thought possesed an exquisite beauty kissed the man who's also familiar but she can't also see the face. Another thing that she noticed was another girl smiling yet at the same time crying silently while looking at the couple with such pain and misery.

Her heart shattered into million shards while looking at them. Aria wanted to run to the girl and embrace her tightly but  unfortunately there's a force that pulled her back to reality she woke up with a heavy heart.

She was crestfallen by just reminiscing those thoughts. She wanted to take a rest because she thought that she was overly exhausted for that reason, she filed a leave and took a break from work to calm herself.

Matthew was worried with Aria. He noticed that she's not on her usual self. He wanted to make her happy that's why he planned a simple surprise since it was their 3rd anniversary.

On the other hand Aria was a bit anxious. There's something bothering her but she can't pinpoint the reason why. She was just lazily slumping on her bed while reading her favorite novel. She let the feeling slip off, put the book on the top of the bedside table and decided to sleep.

"Where am I? she spoke amidst of darkness.

"Youre inside your dreams dear. Your visions says it all Aria. Are you going to ignore it again just like what you did 8 years ago? Haven't you realized earlier that it was not just a mere dream? You are gifted with an Oracle's Eye, Aria. You can see what lies ahead. And it's pointless to escape your fate!!" a man with a deep powerful voice answered the questions that's been lingering in her mind long time ago.

Why did she dream about her parents' death? How come her dreams turned out to be happening in actuality?

Now it's all answered!

She was gifted with an Oracle's Eye. A rare gift from heaven. Maybe this was the compensation for what her parents wished for at the time when Aria went through near death experience. She was actually declared by the doctors dead due to stage four cancer but a miracle happened! By her parents' devoted prayers, the Gods from above grant their wish to give Aria her second life.

She was crying helplessly thinking about her recent dreams. She sat at the middle of nowhere. She's embracing her tired, terrified and shaking body. She felt like a lost cursed soul who doesn't know where to go.

"Now that you figured it out, I'm giving you choices. It's up to you which path you should take. Your destiny starts whenever you decide. Choose and accept the aftermath of it.", the voice explained and slowly vanished.

Aria was crying so hard thus her eyes started to droop and welcomed the darkness consumed her being.
