ARIELLE POV The knock came at eleven forty-three. I know because I was staring at the ceiling and the clock on the nightstand was the only thing in the room giving off any light and I had been watching it for the past hour doing nothing useful. I sat up. The knock came again. Quiet. Not urgent. Just there. I already knew who it was.
