Castillo stood quickly, his confidence slipping. "Your Honor, there must be some mistake—"
"There's no mistake," Gerald interrupted. "Richard Donovan died a full year before Lorenzo's will was supposedly drafted. He couldn't have written this document because he was dead."
"Your Honor, I—we weren't aware of this—" Castillo was fumbling now.
"You weren't aware your supposed witness was dead?" Judge Morrison's voice was sharp. "That seems like significant oversight, counselor."
