I turned to leave, then stopped. "Is that why Isabella hates me so much? Because of what my father did to her sister?"
"Probably one of the reasons."
"What are the other reasons?"
Rafael's expression shifted slightly. "She believes you took me away from her."
I felt a spark of irritation, at those words. “Took you away? Like you were hers to begin with?"
"In her mind, yes." Rafael's lips curved into a slight smile. "We had an arrangement. She thought it meant more than it did."

"No, it's not." His smile faded. "But Isabella's jealousy is the least of your problems right now."
