Epilogue: Over and OutThe emergency room at Madeleine General Hospital functioned with tense efficiency on that awful, unforgettable Monday. Little Jenny LoCastro and Tommy Kale were the first to arrive, and were immediately rushed to the surgical wing for specialized medical attention. Jenny fared considerably better than Tommy, requiring only eleven stitches and a two day stay for observation. A team of surgeons and nurses worked on Tommy for two hours, reassembling his fragmented scapula and applying a state of the art cast through which the frightful wound could breathe. By the end of his two weeks at MGH, Tommy would be crying more out of boredom than pain.
