One in a Million

I woke up around 9:30am, I wandered upstairs after washing up, mom had pancakes made for breakfast "Morning hon, you hungry I made lots?" she asked starting to clean up the kitchen  "Yes, thank you" I replied grabbing a plate to help myself, and sat at the island "How was your date last night with Luc?" she asked giving me a smile. "It wasn't a date mom, we were just hanging out, but it was a lot of fun, he took me out for something to eat, and then to a roller blade disco" I replied not making eye contact, I already knew she was staring at me smiling."Sure sounds like a date" she replied I rolled my eyes. I finished eating, put my dirty dishes in the dish washer, made a coffee and wandered back downstairs to do some homework, and do a load of laundry. My phone went off, I smiled as I seen it was from Lucas

Morning, I just wanted to say thank you for last night :)

Morning, no problem. I had a lot of fun :)

I know it's early, but I'm thinking about throwing a small party next Saturday, you wanna come?

I got no plans for Saturday, so yeah I'll come I'm sure Jess and Austin will be down. Zack will be gone for the weekend.

After the washer had finished, I put my clothes in the dryer and made my way to jump in the shower before Zack texted me to come over. After I had showered I was trying to decide what to wear when my phone went off again this time it was Zack.

Hey, I'm ready when you are

Hey, I'm  just getting dressed give me like 10 minutes :)

No problem, see you then.

It was a cloudy day, so went with a black and white aeropostale t shirt, black track pants, and left my hair down to air dry. Zack walked into my bedroom 10 minutes later as I was putting on white socks "Hey, your mom let me in" he said sitting on my bed, I smiled "You can just let yourself in, you're like family"  he was smiling but was looking down at the floor "So, mom wanted me to ask if you wanted to come over for supper at my place?" he asked "Yeah, sure. I feel like I haven't had your mom's cooking in awhile" I replied sitting next to him on the bed. He texted his mom to let her know."I didn't bring any homework with me, I finished it yesterday" he said leaning over on one arm facing me "That's fine we can watch something" I reply nudging him in the stomach with my foot making him laugh so I nudge him again, this time he grabs my leg and starts tickling my foot I start laughing "Stop" I manage to cry out but he's too busy laughing at me struggling "No, please stop" I cry out again, this time he stops "Sorry, I was just getting you back you know I don't like my stomach touched" he replies "I know, but it's fun" I said laying next to him giving him a smirk. "So, not like I really care but how was your night with Luc?" he asked looking a little uncomfortable asking the question "Well, we went out for food, and then to a roller blade disco it was actually really fun" I reply looking at him making sure I didn't somehow hurt his feelings by saying I had fun with Lucas. "That's good" he replies giving me a small smile "We should go sometime?" I asked. He raised an eyebrow "Can you imagine me on roller blades Sam, I'd be on my ass more then my feet" he replies laughing "But I would do it for you" he adds making me smile. I caught my self just looking at him admiring how lucky I'am to have someone like him in my life, as I do a lot "So, should I pick out something to watch?" he asked making me snap out of my day dreaming "Yes" I replied getting off the bed "I will go make some smoothies I'll be right back" I add walking out of the bedroom. I walked into the kitchen, mom was sitting at the island just getting off the phone "Grammy says Hi" she said hanging up the phone with her mom. I smile as I open the fridge to get yogourt, raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries as I put everything into the blender "You should come with me to go see her next Sunday?" she asked "Yeah, sure I haven't seen her in awhile" I reply turning around to look at my mom who is smiling "Thank you, it would mean a lot to her" I return the smile."Oh, by the way Zack invited me over to his place for supper" I said pouring smoothie into two glasses "That's fine, I'm glad you two are staying close" she said smiling "I always liked Zack, his friendship towards you is one in a million Sam don't ever forget how much that boy cares for you" she adds walking out of the kitchen making me blush. I walked back downstairs, Zack was laying down looking super comfortable I sat next to him handing him a glass "Thank you" he said taking a sip. He picked out the movie The grudge.

After the movie ended, his mom texted him to let him know supper was almost ready "Did you want to come with me, I'll drive you back home?" he asked standing up to stretch "Yeah sure that works" I reply grabbing both glasses to bring upstairs.  I put the glasses in the dishwasher I seen mom was on the back deck "Bye mom, I'm heading to Zacks now" I yelled out to her "See you guys later" she replies.

We arrived at Zacks a minute later, his dog was outside laying on the step "Hi Gizmo" I said rubbing the top of his head. Gizmo was getting old now, Zack said he was 9 years old but he was a beautiful golden retriever I wanted to get a dog, mom won't agree too messy she said. Zacks mom opened the door, "Hey guys supper is just about ready" we both walked into the house Gizmo didn't move. His mom had cooked a sheppards pie "Yum, I love sheppards pie" I said she smiled I helped set the table, then we all sat down to eat "I wish you would come with us next weekend to go see Blake" she says looking at me "Actually, I'm going with mom to go see my grandmother next Sunday, but next time give me a heads up I'm totally down for the road trip" I reply taking a drink of water. "Will do" she replies smiling at me.

After we eat, and clean up Zack and I go upstairs to his room I throw myself on his bed "I swear your bed is more soft then mine" I said rolling over on my stomach "No, yours is" he said laying next to me "I know it's a little soon, but Austin and I have already made plans for Halloween" he said playing with my hair I didn't mind, Zack was always so gentle with me. "Oh great" I reply rolling my eyes "Don't worry, I won't make plans that night with Lucas, I'm all yours that night" I add mentioning his name made Zacks face scrinch a little, but knowing I won't ditch him made him smile right afterwards. "Can you promise me something?" he asked looking very serious "Anything" I reply "No matter what happens, we will remain close" he said stroking my cheek with his hand, making my heart skip a beat "I promise" I whispered closing my eyes. "You ready to go home?" he asked "Not really, but I probably should" I reply letting out a sigh, getting up off the bed, Zack followed me downstairs his mom was no where to be seen to say bye to her.

Zack pulls into my driveway "Thanks for hanging out with me" he said "Anytime" I reply placing my hand on his arm making him smile. "I'll see you at school" I said getting out of his jeep. Zack also waits for me to get inside before leaving. Mom's right mine and Zacks friendship is one in a million, he makes me feel things I never felt, and someone I'am completely comfortable, and myself around.
