Maya’s POV I quickly got up and started to follow behind him, so as not to anger him. His long legs walked faster than ever and my little one struggled to keep up with him, for each step he took, I took double as we made way to his office. Every step I took felt like I was walking into a slaughter house and I was the one who was going to be killed. My heart was pounding wildly against my chest with every second that passed. But underneath all my anxiety, fear and tension, there was something that tugged at my heart- something warm.
