Chapter Forty Nine

1741 Words

Maya’s POV This kiss was the first one since the one we had at the wedding. But this time, I knew those two kisses were not the same. I remembered the first kiss well, not because it was dreamy or anything but because of how it had had a sense of boredom to it. Alexander had kissed me like he was bored and he had other things that he would rather spend his time on than to kiss me. It was nothing but a kiss to seal the marriage and prove to everyone that we were happy. But this… This was different. I could sense an urgency in the kiss, a need, it wasn’t hesitant or something he did just because. It was hungry and it was like he was pouring every emotion he felt into it, it felt insatiable and like I was something he had been craving for long- like I was the only cure to his hunger.
