It'd been days and Mercedes still couldn't understand Drakoen's game plan. What was the point of just keeping her and Horace with him? What did he want to do with them? Those questions remained unanswered. Even without an answer, all she knew was that he was up to no good. He moved Horace and her out of his study and into a dungeon. The dungeon was dark with a dim light bulb and a worn-out bed in the corner. Mercedes hated her situation, but she could not complain, as long as she had her child with her.
