It had been two days since Ming-Yichen had visited the Hornet tower in a futile pursuit for happiness . Since then, not for once had he set eye on Petra. He felt disappointed for not being able to maintain a friendship that was his sole motivation to keep cleaning the scorching windows. The drive to keep living had been greatly depleted.
All day while at the Seventh floor, he will wait for hours, staring eagerly at all the windows of the Hornet tower but ended up with more emptiness than he had arrived with. Not for once had he been lucky to spot Petra again.
“ Who leave with smiles and flowers only to return with scowls and sadness? Only you Ming-Yichen, only you.” Li- Na chuckled as she cleaned her neck with a wet towel. She sat naked by the washer with a foamy sponge In her hand. Her nudity was not a thing of marvel to her grandson who had grown accustomed to seeing it.
“ Li- Na. I didn’t see her again today.” He sighed , and walked away from where he had stood.
“ Don’t be sad my boy. Come over here.” She smiled and stretched her fair hands towards him. For her age, her boobs looked a decade years younger: firm with n*****s slightly pointed at him. With his foots dragging against the floor, he arrived and slowly squat beside her.
“ The only girl who loves you is me my little monk.” Li-Na chuckled and towed his head to rest on her wet thighs.
“ Perhaps the story of the blind hunter would do you good.” She sighed and began to narrate; “ Once, a hunter had lost his sight in an accident while hunting for game. As blind men couldn’t hunt, it became impossible for him to cater for his wife and children till starvation was certain of their fates. Then his best friend paid them a visit and decided to help. He provided them with food and money for upkeep, he also secured the service of a healer for him.
On a frosty morning after many years of treatment with no avail. The blind hunter sat on his wooden chair, facing the warm rays of the rising sun. Suddenly; there were narrow cuts of lights in the distance and it caused him to wipe his eyes. A quick blink_ a quicker blink and like magic; he could finally see. The medications of the healer had after- all proven to be effective. At first, he wanted to be jubilant in joy but decided to surprise his wife and best friend who had been his pillars of support all through his ordeal. The speed and caution of a blind man was still much inherent in his motions as he tiptoed towards his room to break the good news to both of them who he had left in the living room. The muffled moans of his wife was not what he had expected to hear. Shocked, he gently shifted the curtain of the room, only to find his wife riding the d**k of his best friend with the expertise of a whore.”
“ Li-na...” Ming protested at her vague Language.
“ Shut up Ming. Listen to the story.” “ They were so engulfed in their act of pleasure that neither of them had noticed him.
He quietly retreated to his wooden chair and sat on it with a pained smile. He knew that if he raised an alarm, his wife and best friend would be lynched by the neighbors thus leaving him with no Friend and no wife to f**k.
He realized that the return of his sight was rather a curse than a blessing. He got a hold of his walking stick in perfection of pretense, and headed to a bunch of broom. He pulled out a strand with a poky tip and slowly pierced both of his pupils before walking back to his chair as the happy blind man he had grown to be.
“ I never saw anything.” He sighed as he reached for a cigarette which his best friend had bought for him, lit it and smoked the hell out of it. Next, he feasted on the bowl of sumptuous soup his loyal wife had cooked for him from the money his best friend had given to her. He lived happily ever after.” Li- Na giggled.
It was only in the narrative of this tale that Ming-Yichen found strength. He realized that what he saw was just an illusion of objects which could either make him happy or sad, relative to his convictions. He decided it was time to view her absence in a different perspective that gave him a chance of being happy again.
“ Now take off your clothes and join me. You stink.” Li-Na honeyed.
