I tried to lighten the mood when she called, because I could sense how overwhelmed Raelyn felt.
This was a big change for her.
She sounded sure about her decision, but I wondered if there was part of her that doubted if she was doing the right thing. If there was part of her that still loved her husband.
I did my best to focus on work, but I kept checking my phone to see if she sent me any messages. She knows I am here if she needs me, but I also know she doesn’t like asking for help.
“How is packing going?” I texted my mate during dinner.
“I took a break. Will finish the rest tonight.” She replied.
