He Remembers Me

Serenity's POV I hugged my knees tighter making me loose balance and fall on my back. I inhaled the scent of dandelions surrounding me. I'm dreaming. I kept reminding myself that. It's a lonesome day. Well, I have always been lonely but this is a dream . I have  friends in this world.  I stretched my arms and legs and waved them. What if I make it snow instead? Snow started falling from the sky as I imagined it. I tried reaching Dannon's dream earlier but I couldn't. He must still be awake. I wonder what's he doing? I sighed and sprang to my feet. The air blew me hair away from my face and my dress dances with it. My body shivered. It feels weird wearing a dress but I wanted to wear one in reality someday. Dad kept complaining about my identical sweaters. Seeing me wear a dress would make him really happy. That's why I'm trying to grow accustomed to wearing one. A black portal appeared in front of me and disappeared after I stepped inside of it. Everything is dark. This is where dream portals are accessed. When you know whose dream you want to enter then, it's pretty unexacting but right now, I have no idea whose dreams I'll enter. Dotted light started approaching me and it grew as it gets closer. Those are dream portals, entrances of people's dreams. Each person have their own dream portal and it disappears when they wake up. Sometimes I wonder if I have one. Do people like me get to invade my dream to? That is if there are other people like me.  The portals lined up and slowly slide to the left. I stood still while looking at each dream portal and try to find any familiar dreamers. Partially hoping I'll se Dannon's face inside one of the portals. I sighed when I saw no familiar faces. I could just enter any portal I want but I never entered a strangers portal in so long since I met Dannon. I sighed and opened a portal back to my own dream.  "Hmmm...hmm...hmmm," My attention was diverted to another dream portal. That sounded familiar. The portal slid in front of me where I can see the dream properly. A lady is humming a familiar tune. I've heard that before. Who is she? She looks like she's in her 30's.  Her tan skin is glowing under the kiss of sun's light. I entered her dream. Her back is turned at me. She's swaying as to her humming. Slowly, I walked towards her. I have this feeling that I need to talk to her. "Hey," I called out. She stopped swaying and humming. With slow pace she turned face me but before I get to see her face Everything went black. Her dream disappeared. That meant that she has woken up.  With dismay I opened the exit portal again. That lady might knew my mother. She might have answers about my being.  I was about to go inside the portal when I heard another familiar voice. "I'm dreaming." Went no hesitant and wasting any time I turned around. It's Nathan. "I know I'm dreaming." He scoffed while looking at his wrist watch with squinted eyes. "Watches doesn't work like this and what is this number?" 'No way',  I thought. Is he...lucid dreaming? He stared at the thin air and a flaming sword suddenly appeared. I smiled. "How childish." I mumbled. I closed the exit portal and went inside his. *** I kept myself busy by pretending to be busy in this corner of the library. I grabbed the thickest book I can find and carried it to this table. I had nowhere else to go, Mrs. Norris did not report today. I have to kill time until the next class. I'm not really into reading, that's why I have to pretend I'm reading but I'm just really going to take nap. I don't want to be kicked out so I need this thick book to cover my face. I opened the book and made it stand on the table. I lay my head on my arms and closed my eyes. Slumber, swallow me. I'm begging.  "Can we sit here?" "make her leave, it's our table." "don't be rude! It's big enough for four people." I opened my eyes after hearing those familiar voices. It's the trio. I guess I'm trespassing. I raised my head, hitting the book, making it fall flat on the table. It created a loud bang noise that made people near my table look at me. "Sorry." I said apologetically. I grabbed the book in embarrassment. I sighed and looked at the three. "I'll just leave." I said and turned my back at them. "Serenity." the book created another loud noise—louder than the last time—as it fell on the floor. Did he just call me by my name. My heart is pounding really fast that I feel like hyperventilating. I have a feeling that he remembers me. I mean,  of course he remembers me. He was lucid dreaming! how can I be so stupid. I always wished Dannon can lucid dream but it's hard to pull off. Only a small population of the world can lucid dream and those who are consistent on dreaming lucidly are thinner on the ground. Knowing that Nathan is one of those rare people is amazing.  I bent down and picked the fallen book. I kept myself calm. I took a deep breath before turning my head back at the three. I tried looking at Nathan but I was too nervous to look at him straight in the eyes. So, I looked at him on his brows instead.  "Do I know you?" I tried to be convincing as possible. He might remember his dreams but he doesn't know that I do. He doesn't even have assurance if we had the same dream.  A hint of disappointment plastered on his face but he quickly masked it with a friendly smile. "My bad. I'm Nathan." he held his hand forward for a handshake. "How'd you know my name?" I asked. I need to stand with my act.  "I don't." Nathan answered, acting dumb while still displaying his friendly smile. "nice to meet you, Nathan." I said and walked away, not bothering to shale his hand.  I let out my breath that I unconsciously held the whole time.  He remembers me! For the first time in my life, someone actually remembers me. I could have taken that opportunity to have friends. I bit my lower lip trying to figure out if was possible for me to be friends with them in reality. I walked from bookshelf to bookshelf, trying to remember where I pulled this thick book. My arms are starting to hurt while carrying it. I never even bothered to read it's title. 'The human mind,' Interesting. Maybe I should've gave this a shot earlier.  Right, this was placed on the top shelf on this shelf. I roamed my eyes around. I used a stool to get this. Where is it? I sighed when I wasn't able to find it. I tried to stand on my toes in order to reach the tops shelf. "Damn it!" I explained and twisted my arms. Why is this book so heavy!  I tried again and lost balance. If it wasn't for that hand that caught me, I might have fallen on the with the book. I wrinkled my nose. That would hurt. "You should have just left that book on the table. Someone in charge will put it back on the shelf." s**t! It's Dannon. I tried pulling myself away because we strangely look like main casts of a romance novel. As I do so, he pulled me even closer. I looked at his eyes. Letting myself get pierced by his icy stare. "Who are you?"
