CHAPTER SIX T hursday morning at nine o’clock Courtney on the Square reopened for business. The plywood covering the broken window looked tacky. The paint saying ‘NOW OPEN’ was still tacky, sort of like a matched pair. Courtney had no appointments today, but she knew she would be busy. People wanted to know what was going on and her shop was as close to the action as one could get. The Thrift store was boarded up and would probably never reopen. Courtney had bought another coffee maker. She knew one wouldn’t be enough for the curious. She expected a lot of tourist and maybe even a few reporters. Free advertisement is the best kind.
