Next to the house was a parking pad. An old pick-up truck was sitting there, hood up. It could best be described as a pile of rust. He looked in the bed of the truck. Leaves and pine needles piled up and decaying. A few pine seedlings had actually sprouted. He went to the front and looked at the engine, it was gone. He noticed a broom stick was holding the hood up. He could see parts laying under the engine compartment. He couldn’t tell what they were and leaned over to get a closer look. He hit the broom stick and the hood came crashing down. He barely got out of the way. He didn’t know what year the truck was, but he bet his Dad would know. He took pictures with his phone.
