After being dragged to the garden, Rai sat on the bench in the center. "Rai, I know that you'll start to teach them a better use of concentration so I think it might be a good idea to know who your allies are, don't you think?" Charles last phrase was directed to the group of Harris who were standing in front of Rai. "I think it might be a good idea, so that we know where to go when a help is needed." Harris pointed out and the others nodded as well. "I know we are classmates but, I wish we get along well" Charles offered a handshake to the other group. Harris shook his hand and the others followed. "What time do we meet at the forest?" Charles ask. "We meet after school, I'll show you guys something" Rai replied immediately. "We understand, let's go back before someone hear our plans" Harris reminded. Though not many people come to the garden during the hours of classes, some students “delinquents” loiter all around the school that they might accidentally hear and spy on them. "You guys go first, we’ll follow you later." Charles ask Harris' group then nodded and went back to their classroom first. Verette and Charles stayed behind with Rai. "Rai" Verette hesitated but forced herself to continue asking her question. "What is the relation between you and the princess of the White Pearl?" Rai stared at Verette before answering, he had the look of annoyance in his eyes. "Friends" He spoke without hesitation. "Doesn't look like that to me" Charles cut in their conversation. All is well before our boy Charles made the atmosphere awkward that made Verette blush. "Enough of that topic, let’s go back and meet again at the forest." Rai said to stop Charles from making things worse. Charles' teasing was put on hold and they went back to their classroom. The lessons ended and the students went back to their homes, some hang out with friends, and some just wanted more lessons. Just as they agreed, they went back to the inn, Rai escorted Harris' group to the house in the forest. "This place is quite maintained" Clara was amazed on how well maintained the place is even after so many years of not being used. "Apparently the inn keeper pays someone to keep this house clean" Rai said while taking his jacket off. Rica and Clara were looking around while Harris, Leroy and Taro are preparing their equipment. Rai saw them and told them to stop. "You might not use it after this" he said. "Not use our equipment?" Taro ask as he wiped his shield clean. Leroy put down his staff and listened to Rai. Harris stopped sharpening the blade of his sword. "Call the other two here, I'll show you something" Rai wants to demonstrate the things that he showed Charles and Verette. "I'll call them" Taro volunteered and went to fetch them. Rai took out a box like the size of his palm. The others arrived with Taro, Verette and Charles arrived at the place before Rai could show them anything. "Sorry, Charles wasn't allowed to go out but I convinced his parents" Verette explain. "They heard what happened, luckily Verette was there. They might have made me absent for a few days." Charles was wearing his shorts and a plain shirt. "Perfect timing, I was just about to start" Rai held the box in his hand and opened it. Inside the box was a glittering ball that shines without the light of the moon. Their eyes got fixed at the item that Rai held in his hands. "What is that?" Harris asked out of curiosity. "This is the All-Seeing Eye of Karu, if you pour your concentration into this ball. You will see a concentration type that suits you the most. Only then you will be able to figure out the right class you are supposed to be in." he explained. After Rai explained how the thing works, they wonder why Rai would bring something so valuable. "We just have to touch it?" Charles asked Rai. "And that exempts you Charles" he said as he points his finger to Charles. Rai's words surprised everyone and immediately turned their heads to Charles. "What?! Why?" Charles exclaim in surprise. "The moment you use that technique, your concentration type is already sealed. You've noticed it didn't you?" Rai clarified. "Noticed what?" Verette was confused just like the others. "My concentration properties changed drastically, even the color of my flames became a lot darker" he explained. A flame started dancing at his will at the tip of his fingers. His flames used to be yellow and now it turned to dark orange. "The moment you used that technique, you signed the contract to accept the concentration type you have at that time. Only a few handful of people know of this that's why it must be kept in secret. But because of some circumstance I must sacrifice that secret for the greater good." Rai spoke as he walked in circles around them. "Those monsters, not to mention the killings of students. What a pain in the a*s!" Charles murmured while biting his lip. "Charles you experienced it firsthand right? How strong was it?" Harris wanted to know his experience. The others were looking forward for his answer as well. Charles shook his head. "That was not a good experience, the way we are now. We don't stand a chance, and to top it up. The thing we encountered was only a hatchling" Verette spoke in Charles stead. "It was humiliation, even our instructor didn't leave a single scratch" Charles continued. "A hatchling?" Clara muttered "Then we need to get stronger, and fast" Harris gave the group courage when he swore that he would get stronger. "Don't worry, just like I said. Those monsters will be a piece of cake" Rai put the ball in in Harris' hands. "Let the concentration flow into it, like it is one with you" Rai spoke with a calm voice. Harris closed his eyes and poured his concentration into the ball. The ball started to shine. A luminous light circling inside the ball. Then suddenly, the light entered Harris' body. Harris fell on his knees, light was coming out of his eyes and mouth. The others tried to help Harris but Rai stopped them. "You interrupt that exchange and you might just have killed him. The rest of you will experience the same, so I urge you to control yourselves." Rai warned the rest as they try to approach Harris. Sweat was falling down from their foreheads as Harris' exchange stopped. "Oh! My head hurts, what happened?" Everyone sighed in relief. "You now have the most suitable type for yourself." Rai answered while handing the ball to Verette. The same thing happened to the others while the exchange was active. Harris tried to help them but Rai forbid him just as he did to the others.
