Beginning of story Ethan had been traveling through the town for hours, his feet aching and his stomach growling. He had been warned not to travel alone, especially at night, but he had to reach the other side of the town before dawn. As he walked, the shadows seemed to grow longer and darker, like grasping fingers. Ethan quickened his pace, his heart pounding in his chest. He had heard stories of strange creatures that roamed the night, preying on unsuspecting travelers. Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him. Ethan spun around, his hand on the dagger on his belt. A group of rough-looking men emerged from the shadows, their eyes gleaming with malice. "Well, well, well," one of them sneered. "What do we have here?
