“Mom,” Amiel’s crying voice shocked them both. Ameelah quickly looked back and saw her son crying while looking at Darmiel. Darmiel suddenly stood up and was at Amiel’s side in a few strides. He picked him up and enclosed his small frame in his arms. Ameelah stood frozen, unable to think clearly. “Daddy,” Amiel whispered, and Darmiel nodded. “Yes, Amiel. I am your Dad. Sorry, I am sorry that it is only now that we met. It was my fault,” Darmiel whispered back as he tightly embraced his son.
