As the materializer beam released him, Nick scanned the area around them, his blaster rifle at the ready. Bones’ and the Kid’s suit lamps penetrated the dimly lit tunnel, fully illuminating the curvature of the wall to Nick’s left. The solid beam of white light from his suit lamp did the same to the wall to his right.
“You read us, Gears?” Nick said softly into the suit comm in his helmet.
They’d donned their armored environmental suits complete with the helmets. The sensor readings showed the atmosphere in the tunnels was breathable for humanoids but Nick wasn’t taking any chances. They would need their facilities unimpaired for the duration. The environmental suits were, in his view, a necessary precaution.
