Nick brought the coffee cup up to his lips and took a sip of the warm, satisfying chocolate-colored coffee. The slightly bitter brew slid across his tongue, then down his throat. He eyed the screen in the console of the copilot’s station in front of him as five space vessels slid into view, finally settling in the center of the screen as the Hunter came into synchronous orbit with them.
This discovery was a welcome distraction from having to tell Obri his family was most likely dead. Thankfully, Obri lay unconscious again in the medical bay, having collapsed once again after spouting out more gibberish about stars, ships, flames, and war.
