I was calmer now, but it doesn’t mean I accept my fate just yet. I’m pacing around the office with Matt’s eyes glued to my every movement. He had Mike and Carl just outside the door in case I lose it again. My rage was under control, for now, making my calculating demeanor surface as I try to plan my way out of this s**t. I knew something bad would happen, I just didn’t know what or when. I thought they would end up sending someone to kill me, or worse, hurt someone I love.
