“Why haven’t you explained any of this s**t to Jamie?” – Alison asked me.
“I wanted to. I was going to tell her everything but she found out before I even had a chance.” – I explained.
“She’ll never forgive you if she doesn’t know. I know it might not make much of a difference because you don’t really have another choice for now than to marry Francesca. But at least she’ll know you didn’t play her. She won’t hate you.” – she verbalized my exact thoughts of the past few days.
“Well, I think you should let her hate you. She’ll get over you faster that way.” – Matt said. He was always very rational about things, especially in this case because he hasn’t been in the spot I am right now. Maybe his distanced perspective gave him a different understanding.
