Chapter 26 Ripping the old wallpaper off the wall was easy, an enjoyable task, even therapeutic; in any case an unblemished pleasure. Eventually the last shred, a long brown piece, stubborn, as though desperate to cling to the wall was torn from the plaster, revealing the plasterwork bare and potholed ready for her choice of decoration.
