Astrid rummaged through Raiden's bags until her hand at last closed around the Seal, its glittering facets reflecting the moon and stars in the night sky above, despite the roof overhead. She held it close to her chest and stepped outside, then shakily held it in front of her, hoping that something would happen.
Nothing did.
She sighed and gazed down at the crystal, studying the colors swirling inside. "I don't know how to call upon your power," she said quietly. "But I need your help. There's a demon on the way here and I need to put up a barrier to keep him from getting to us."
To her surprise, the Seal responded. Fractals of violet and silver light shimmered and blazed inside the crystalline surface. It tugged on Astrid's hand and she released it, watching in awe as it rose into the
