Andre POV
I woke up, and the first thing I noticed...
She was gone.
I turned slightly, my hands brushing over the other side of the bed, expecting to feel her, but I felt nothing.
That space was empty.
Just cold sheets.
I opened my eyes fully now, wondering why she just left.
A small frown plastered across my face before I could stop it.
"She really left," I muttered.
That was new.
Most women never just leave. They always try to stay longer. Some even go as far as trying to make breakfast and whatnot.
They never leave without dropping either their number, their name, or a message.
They always leave something behind.
But not her.
I don't know anything about her, not even her name.
I sat up, running my hands through my hair, scanning the room to see if I was just imagining things.
There was this tiny hope in me that she left something for me to remember her by.
But I was wrong—she really just left.
And that didn't sit well with me.
For a second, her face flashed in my head.
"Such a beautiful lady," I mumbled.
I let out a quiet breath, shaking the thought of her out of my head.
She is just a woman.
But why did it feel different with her?
⸻
I stood up and got into something comfortable.
I headed to the living room.
"Good morning, sir," my help smiled.
"Hello Patricia, morning... did you, by any chance, see my guest?" I asked.
"Umm... yes, sir. She left pretty early, sir."
"Oh... okay then. Please serve me breakfast," I said.
"Okay, sir. It will be served right away."
I made my way outside.
The bodyguards straightened up immediately they saw me.
"Where is she?" I asked.
My voice was calm. I didn't need to say much.
"She left, sir. Early this morning. She left through the front gate and got into a cab."
I nodded slowly and made my way back to the dining table, waiting for my breakfast.
I can't believe she just left.
⸻
My phone rang.
I glanced at the screen, and my expression shifted.
My father.
What exactly does he want this time?
Why is he calling me?
I proceeded to pick it up.
"Andre, come to the hotel right now."
He hung up, not even giving me space to argue.
My breakfast had arrived.
"Patricia, I'll eat this later," I said, standing up to go to my room.
I quickly showered, wore a black suit, grabbed my watch, and headed straight to the hotel.
The car was already waiting.
⸻
We got to the hotel, and immediately I went up to meet my father.
The room felt different.
All the board members were here.
What is going on?
"Andre, sit," my father said, pointing to the seat beside him.
"You are my only son. It's high time you take over. I'll be stepping down, and I need you to take responsibility for this hotel."
I was shocked.
When did he decide this?
"Umm... dad—"
"No arguments, Andre. I'm old now. I need to rest. The board will relay the rest of the message to you."
He stood up and left.
⸻
"Hello, Andre," the lawyer said, along with the rest of the board members. They were all staring at me like I held their lives in my hands.
"Your father has handed this hotel to you, but you won't be completely taking over just yet. He included a clause—you must get married within four months."
Gosh, this marriage thing again.
"I'll give you everything you need to resume today. Do have a lovely day."
They all stood up, smiled at me, and walked out.
⸻
How the hell am I supposed to find a wife in four months?
I sat there, confused as to how I even landed here.
My father is full of surprises.
⸻
A lady walked in.
"Good day, sir. My name is Faith, and I'm the manger, I'm here to give you the resumes of people who applied for the P.A. role. Your father was supposed to handle it, but I was told to refer to you now."
She handed me a bunch of files.
I took them from her.
"These are the number of people who applied?" I asked, shocked at the amount of applicants.
"Yes, sir," she responded. "We even had to remove some and ended up choosing these ones, sir."
I started going through the files, one after the other.
Going through everyone's file bored me.
Until...
I landed on one.
Her face—so familiar. Then it hit. It was her.
That woman.
"Petra," I said her name out loud.
A slow smile spread across my face.
"Hire her," I said, pointing at the file.
The manger nodded.
"Yes, sir," she said, while taking her leave.
I couldn't believe it. I had finally found her.
And from now on,she has to answer to me.
