Chapter 8 “Limited Edition Handgun”

Later that day, Aubrey and Jeremy decided to go to their private gym in their headquarters and shake off some steam. As they are working out, Jeremy throws Aubrey a water bottle “Happy Anniversary Boss”. He tells her Aubrey smiles, remembering the day she found him.

About 6 years ago, when her father disappeared, she started an Assassin Group called The Reapers and Aubrey started this group to help her family get by, since her father wasn’t around and help people that needed others to be taken care of. One night when Aubrey was going for a run, she sees a young teenager no older than her wounded running away from a group of men and sees a trail of blood on the floor, she puts her hood on and runs after them. After almost a mile of running, she sees the men cornering the teenager beating him to death and from behind, she sneaks up on one of the men snapping his neck, dodging the other men’s punches and kicks. Pulling her handgun out, pointing it at one of the men in his face, “If you want to live, I suggest you call your men off” she says with a straight face. The man looks at her, not saying a word and signals his men to run off as he follows them. Aubrey saw that the teenager was badly bruised and has a shot wound on the side of his stomach and was losing blood fast she rips a long piece of her shirt, wrapping it around his stomach, grabs his arm pulling him over her shoulder carrying him on her back walking him to a nearby clinic, a friend of her own’s, walking in Aubrey carrying him straight to Doctor Adam Smith’s office when she walked in Adam looked up right away seeing Aubrey carry the teenager on her back and rushes to her helping her lay him down on the medical bed he had “What’s the status report” he ask’s putting his stethoscope on placing it on the teenagers chest “Gunshot wound, badly bruised and unconscious” she say’s passing his the scissors, as he was cutting the teenagers shirt his wallet falls out his sweater pocket and Aubrey looks at it and read’s Jeremy Armada 17 years old Xavier High school Manhattan New York “He goes to the same school as I do” she says passing Adam the wallet looking at Jeremy unconscious remembering she’s seen him at school always getting bullied, she clenching her fingers promising herself to make those who made him hurt suffer and be by his side “Go wash up I’ll take care of him” Adam tells her Aubrey nods leaving the room.

Later that day Aubrey come’s back changed, and see’s Jeremy was awake and slowly walking in the room carrying food she made for him and a change of clothes Jeremy looks at her “Aubrey Grajeda?” he asks as she walked up to him “Your awake, how you feeling?” she asks placing the food next to him and the bag of cloths across from him “I’m ok what are you doing here?” he asks looking at her confused “I’m the one who saved your life” she tells him Jeremy bursts out laughing sarcastically “Your joking right?” Aubrey gave him a straight face and he stops laughing “Are you serious?” Aubrey pulls out her phone showing the security camera video footage from the clinic of her carrying him in Adams office covered in blood” Jeremy looked at her in shocked “How did we get away?” he asks her “I threatened one of the men pointing my gun at his face” she tells him with a straight face Jeremy looks at her up and down and see’s she looks different from when she’s in school no one would suspect a young lady like herself to be so fierce, “Well if there’s any way I can repay you please ask” he tells her Aubrey rolling the bed table to him serving him the food she made “Well since you mention it how do you feel about becoming partners with me?” she asks passing him a bowl of food “What’ll I have to do?” he asks taking the bowl Aubrey grin’s and since that day Jeremy and Aubrey not only became partner’s but family, he was like a big brother to her and she’s take a bullet anytime as he would for her.

Aubrey was in a day dream of when she found him and giving him a big hug “Happy Anniversary brother” she tells him Jeremy hugs her tight “If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t of been here so thank you” he tells her as he lets her go Aubrey smiles at him and Michael walk’s in joining them “What’s up sis are we training again?” he asks walking next to her, Aubrey smiles “Alright rookie’s let’s see how well you two improved these past years” Aubrey say’s leading them to a training range full of obstacles “The one with the best time gets the Limited Edition handgun” both Jeremy and Michael look at each other smirking “Piece of cake” they both say grinning at each other Aubrey holds her hand up “wait theirs only one catch though” she says smirking walking in between them with her arms around them “You’ll have to finish with in 3 minutes while being shot at” she says looking at both of them both Jeremy and Michael look at each other nervous “Lady’s first” they both say Aubrey smirks “Awe what’s wrong boy’s don’t tell me your afraid of a little challenge?” she asks them Jeremy sighs “I’ll go first” he says “No I’ll go” Michael says shoving him Aubrey rolls her eye’s shoving them both “Both of you go against each other” she says crossing her arms at them “Fine” they both says walking to the starting line, Aubrey grabs the microphone and the stop watch “Alright shooters ready, Runner’s On your mark, get set, GO!!” she shouts as they ran. As Michael and Jeremy both dodge the shooting and ran smoothly through the obstacle Jeremy finished in 2 min and 30 seconds as Michael 2mins and 40 seconds “Wow impressive boys” she says showing them their times “Alright sister it’s your turn” Michael says taking the stopwatch and microphone from her Aubrey grins “Alright wish me luck” she says walking to the starting line stretching out a little Michael and Jeremy both stand next to each other “Alright shooters ready, Aubrey ready, get set …Go!!” Jeremy shouts Aubrey bolted threw the obstacle dodging all the shots towards her leaving both Jeremy and Michael shocked and she already finished the race 1min and 20 seconds they both looked not believing it Jeremy and Michael both run up to her as she was drinking her water bottle “You’re too strong to be human!!” Jeremy tells her Aubrey grinned “Well boy’s a bet is a bet the Limited-Edition Handgun is mine!” she says walking away smiling.
