"Halloran's dropping the suit," Marsh said, without preamble. "Her attorney called this morning. They're withdrawing all claims, effective immediately, in exchange for the university agreeing not to pursue separate legal action for the ice-patch sabotage or the pressure applied to Dr. Reyes."
"Why the sudden change?" Rae asked, cautious hope warring with two months of hard-earned suspicion.
"Because her case was always thin, and I think her attorney finally convinced her the deposition transcripts made that clear enough that continuing to fight would just generate more bad press and more legal fee
