Emilia POV
William froze.
For a split second, he stared at me, like he couldn’t process what was happening.
The girl on top of him reacted faster. She gasped, scrambling off him, clutching the blanket tightly around her body before rushing past me and out of the room without a single word.
“I can explain, babe—” William started, his voice panicked.
The word 'Babe' felt like acid in my ears. How many times had he whispered it to her tonight?
I let out a hollow laugh.
“Explain what?” I cut in sharply. “What exactly are you going to explain? I saw everything.”
He ran a hand through his hair, already picking up his clothes from the floor in a hurry.
“Emilia, just listen to me—”
“For how long?” I demanded, my voice rising. “How long has this been going on?”
He didn’t answer.
“Emilia, please,” he tried again, struggling to get dressed at the same time. “Just hear me out—”
I stormed out.
My chest burned, my vision blurred, but I refused to cry. Not in that disgusting place.
I pushed through the crowd, ignoring the confused looks, the noise, the music—everything. I just needed to get out.
“Emilia!”
His voice followed me.
I ignored it.
“Emilia, wait!”
I walked faster.
By the time I stepped outside, the cool night air hit my face, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside me.
I just needed space.
“Emilia!”
Willam's hand grabbed my wrist.
Slowly, I turned to face him.
William stood there, slightly out of breath, his shirt half-buttoned, his hair messy—looking exactly like what he was.
A liar.
“Baby, please,” he said, his voice softer now, almost pleading. “I can explain. It’s a mistake… a misunderstanding—”
I let out a sharp, bitter laugh.
“A misunderstanding?” I repeated. “A mistake?”
I stepped closer, yanking my hand out of his grip.
“Which one is it, William?” My voice shook from anger. “Because I clearly saw what happened in there.”
He opened his mouth, but I didn’t let him speak.
“I’m not blind,” I snapped. “You told me it was just a gathering.”
“Yes, it was—” he said quickly, frustration creeping into his tone.
“Then what happened next?” I shot back immediately.
He hesitated.
“I—”
I cut him off, my voice cold and sharp.
“You were in there f*****g another woman.”
The words hung in the air between us.
William flinched, his silence saying everything he couldn’t.
I never imagined something like this would ever happen to me.
“I must have been blind… to love someone like you” I whispered, my voice trembling as I turned away, refusing to look at him any longer.
I didn’t know where I was going. I just knew I needed to get away—from him, from the lies, from the humiliation burning through my chest.
“Baby… wait!”
William’s voice chased after me, desperate and breathless.
I stopped—but I didn’t turn around.
A second later, he rushed in front of me and dropped to his knees right there on the street.
“It’s not what you think,” he said quickly, his voice shaky. “I swear, it’s all a misunderstanding.”
A bitter laugh almost escaped me.
A misunderstanding?
I finally looked at him, really looked at him—and whatever I once felt shattered completely.
“If you follow me,” I said coldly, each word deliberate, “I will call the police.”
The desperation on his face froze instantly.
I didn’t wait for him to say anything else. I turned and walked away, my steps unsteady but determined.
The sky rumbled above me, thunder rolling like a warning.
