Catherine’s pov
I woke up to find myself in a bed, and as I looked around, I realized I was in the school hospital.
A woman entered the room. “Oh, I see you’re awake, Miss Catherine,” she said with a bright smile as she walked towards me.
“Who are you, and where am I?” I asked, sitting up slowly.
“I’m Miss Kate, but you can call me Kate,” she replied.
She appeared to be in her forties but still looked quite good.
“Well, you’re in the school hospital. You fainted earlier,” Miss Kate explained.
The memory of Kaila throwing a ball at my face flashed through my mind, making me wince in embarrassment.
How could I have fainted from a hit like that?
“Can I leave now?” I asked politely.
“Yes, you can,” Miss Kate said. “The young man who brought you here is waiting for you outside,” she added with a shy smile before turning to look at some files.
A young man is waiting for me?
It suddenly hit me that someone had approached me before I passed out, but I hadn’t really seen his face.
I sighed and stepped outside the door, opening it slowly to see a guy standing with his back to me.
I could only see his back.
I gently closed the door behind me and walked toward him. “Thank you for bringing me here,” I said, bowing slightly.
He turned to face me. Even though I was bowing, I could still see him.
“Hey,” he said simply, and I looked up to see the most striking person I had encountered since arriving at the school.
His messy blonde hair was styled neatly, and his deep blue eyes sparkled as he wore his uniform perfectly.
Everyone else was in their uniforms, except for those troublesome triplets, especially Armani.
“So, how’s your head?” he asked, bringing me back to reality.
“Huh?” I responded.
“I mean, you fainted a while ago,” he said awkwardly, revealing his nervousness.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” I said with a bright smile.
“I’m Lucas, by the way,” Lucas introduced, extending his hand toward me.
I quickly shook his hand, feeling a rush of nervousness. “I’m Catherine,” I said, my words coming out hurriedly.
He chuckled before releasing my hand. “We should hang out sometime, if you’re less busy and interested,” Lucas suggested, his tone casual.
I won’t lie—he was incredibly attractive. Whenever he spoke, his perfectly white teeth gleamed, adding to his charm.
“Definitely,” I replied, returning his smile.
“Alright, see you around, Catherine,” Lucas said before turning and walking away. I watched him leave, wondering if he was an angel.
“He is so hot,” I muttered to myself.
“You shouldn’t take him seriously,” a voice said, interrupting my thoughts. I recognized the voice immediately.
I turned slowly to see Armani staring at me.
Not him. Why can’t he just stay away for a month or two?
“What do you want?” I snapped, still fuming from the food incident.
“What’s with the attitude?” Armani asked, clearly unfazed by my response.
He can’t be serious right now, but the look on his face showed he was.
He really had some nerve to question me after what he did in the cafeteria.
I ignored his question and tried to walk away, but he grabbed my hand, stopping me. “Don’t you dare think you can act any way you want with me. Don’t forget who you are and your place,” Armani said, tightening his grip on my arm.
“Let go of me,” I demanded, struggling to free my hand from his grasp.
What was his problem?
“Don’t try to play smart with me. Remember, you’re nothing but a maid my father took pity on,” Armani sneered, reminding me of my position and status.
“You’re just a commoner, not even a lower-class elite—just a peasant wolf who got a chance to attend a school for elites,” Armani continued, his voice harsh as tears began to well up in my eyes.
“You don’t even belong here. Do you know how badly you’ll be treated if these people find out you’re a commoner?” he threatened, his words cutting deeply.
He was right—I was nothing but a peasant wolf and didn’t belong here. If anyone found out that I wasn’t supposed to be here, life would be unbearable.
“Please don’t tell anyone,” I begged Armani.
I knew he was cruel, but I hoped he wouldn’t be so ruthless. I had never done anything to him.
“Oh, I won’t tell anyone,” Armani said, making me sigh with relief.
“Only on one condition,” he added, causing a surge of panic.
“What condition?” I asked quickly.
“You have to do whatever I say,” Armani said with a smirk.
I hated him so much. Sometimes, I felt like I might explode with frustration.
“Fine,” I said, feeling defeated.
“Good choice,” Armani laughed before walking away.
I turned around to see Ben staring at me, causing me to flinch in fear.
Oh no. Did he overhear what Armani and I were discussing?
