Me Blake Satero : My Boss

Chapter 3

*Hailey's POV*

It was Saturday now and I just woke up. I decided to stay in today because for one, I had no money and two I had nothing to do outside. I got up and brushed my teeth and watched Netflix for the day. Sunday came and I stayed in again. I need to get all the rest I can get, also I prepared myself and did my girly stuff. I shaved because I wanted to feel clean, not because..... anyways. I shaved, washed my hair and used my friend's skincare to do some of my own. I watched Netflix for the rest of the day and fell asleep around 10:30 pm.

*Monday*

I set my alarm for 6:30 am the previous night because I'm supposed to be at work by 8:00 am. As my alarm went off I twisted and turned in my 'bed', I fought to get up. I finally got up and my back was hurting like crazy. "I have to find an apartment soon, now that I have the money." I said to myself, I went straight to the bathroom, I could not be late for my first official day at my new job. I took a shower, brushed my teeth and washed my face. I did my hair while I was there too. I decided to wear a 'show stopping outfit', well not really because they were cheap but I could put something together. I chose my light pink suit and paired it with my very high, white heels. 'I hope I don't fall today' I thought to myself. I put my hair in a high ponytail.

I felt pretty and quite appropriate and I thought I looked professional enough. To finish off I brought a black tote and wore a black trench coat since it was still snowing in New York, and I don't know if it was going to snow any longer or harder later on. I checked the time, it was 7:15, I decided to leave so I can get some coffee at my favorite cafe. As I left the apartment I checked my account but I only had $250 left. I have to make this last until I get paid next week. I don't know how I'm going to do that since I have to take cabs because I am determined to wear heels, I mean they're the only shoes I have as of right now. I went outside and hailed a cab, the city was pretty busy today since it's Monday, everyone was going to work. I made my way to the cafe, and when I got there it was quite full. I guess this was the early morning rush. I had to wait 10 minutes on line "I really hope I'm not late for my first day" I thought. Finally after what felt like ages it was my turn, I changed it up a bit and ordered actual coffee instead of my regular chai latte, "Hi, can I get a large salted caramel cold brew with 6 pumps of caramel and sweet cream cold foam, please?" I told the barista Sarah, she was here the last time I came here but she wasn't wearing a name tag. "Will that be all?" she asked and I nodded my head in response, "Ok, that'll be $5.49" I tapped my card on the machine and waited for my drink. A couple second went by and she was finally done. I left the cafe and got another cab, it was 7:45 at this point. The ride to the office was about 25 minutes from the cafe but I don't think that's a big deal? After about 20 minutes I got to the office, the driver went a bit fast despite the traffic. I got out the cab with my coffee in hand, I looked up at the building and took a deep breathe. I walked in the lobby as Rebecca looked up and smiled at me, I returned the smile. "Good Morning, Hailey how was your weekend?" she asked "It was relaxing" "Are you nervous?" Rebecca asked "To be honest? Yes!" "I know, you'll be fine. Just don't get on the boss's bad side" she chuckled. To be honest that didn't ease my nerves either! "Okay, I'll see you later" I said as I made my way to the elevator, I took deep breaths as I made my way to the 23rd floor. Minutes went by and I finally arrived. The other receptionist Eve was there "Good Morning, Eve" I said with a smile "Good Morning Hailey, let me tell Mr. Satero you have arrived" she said "Thank you" I responded. She made the call and was on the phone for a minute or two and then she sent me to his office. I made my way slowly to his office, I knocked on the door and that deep, loud voice boomed "Come in!". Again, like the first time I jumped a bit, he just scares me. I entered the office and he didn't even bother to look up. I rolled my eyes and cleared my throat "ahem... Good Morning Mr. Satero '' he didn't even say good morning, rude much. "Your office is right next to mine, Eve will email you your schedule, there are some files that need attending to and I will call you in 10 minutes to get them" he said all in one sentence, still didn't look up, he just stared at his computer screen. "Okay Mr. Satero'' I stood there to see if there was anything else. "You can leave now!" his voice boomed, I shrieked and left quickly. I went to my office which was the only other one on this floor besides a conference room.

My office was way bigger than I imagined! "Holy s**t" I said my mouth agape "I know right, that's what I said when I first saw it" I jumped when I heard Eve behind me, I put my hand over my erratically beating heart "You scarred me" "Oh I'm sorry dear" She finished with a laugh. "Is there something I can help you with, Eve?" "Yes, actually. I just wanted to welcome you to Satero, and I love your suit! So pretty. Anyways, if you want to have lunch just let me know'' she said with a smile. I was about to talk when my phone rang, I answered. "Hailey Rose, how may I help?"waiting... "come to my office now" then the line went dead. Grumpy.as.fuck. "Yes, I would love that. I'll see what time I have lunch". We both exited my office and I made my way to Mr. Satero's office, I knocked and no answer, knocked again...knocked again.. "Come in!" I entered and stood there. Since I've been here, the time is now 8:50. I glanced at the wall clock. "Here are the documents, I expect them by 4, and we have a staff meeting in 10 minutes. Leave now" I quickly gathered the files, lets just say it was a lot and I have heels on! Now what if I fall? I should sue him. I made my way to my office and immediately started organizing and inputting the data in the work database. 10 minutes went by and I only got 1 file done. I left my office and made my way to Eve, just as Mr. Satero was leaving his office. I whispered to Eve, ''Where is the staff meeting?" she whispered back "I was just going, follow me" I smiled and followed her. That's when I noticed Mr. Satero was taking the same elevator as us, there were 3 elevators on this floor, he could have taken another one. "Okay deep breaths, he shouldn't be affecting you like this!" I thought to myself. We all waited for the elevator to come up and I noticed Eve gave Mr. Satero a weird look, while he walked on. I wonder why? He was on his phone and I forgot to get my phone from my bag! I don't need it anyways. We stood in silence as we made our way down. The three of us along with some others made our way to the conference room where the meeting was, on the 5th floor. I smiled at some people while others gave me skeptical looks as I walked in with the boss.... One girl in particular with brunette hair and brown eyes gave me a killer look as if I was all over her territory. I shook it off and paid attention to Mr. Satero.... "Good Morning everyone......." he continued and I listened attentively. He just mentioned new deals that they're trying to sign, along with expanding the company and I noticed the brunette giving him googly eyes. Why the f**k is she looking at him like that? I got all possessive for some weird reason. WHY? Anyways the meeting went on for 15 minutes and then we were dismissed. I made my way back to my office and began working immediately, after 3 hours my computer made a sound, I got an email. "Eve will give you a tour of the building tomorrow so come in at 7:00 am" Mr. Blake Satero, CEO Satero. "Thank you for informing me" Hailey Rose. It was 12:15 now and that was lunch. I went to Eve and she was about to come to my office too "ready for lunch?" she asked? "Yes, I'm starving," I laughed. We made our way down and Rebecca was gone. We left and walked a bit down the block to Panera, 'I could splurge a little' I thought. I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup and a steak and white cheddar sandwich, after all I didn't eat all morning just coffee. We enjoyed our lunch and got to know each other more. I told her about my childhood and Denver, why I left Denver, my college experience etc...Lunch ended at 1 as we made our way back. We both went on the elevator and made our way back up to the 23rd floor. Before departing she reminded me of what Blake already said "I'm supposed to give you a tour of the office tomorrow" "Thank you, B-Mr. Satero already informed me" I smiled. I almost called him Blake, omg, that would definitely send the wrong message. I went back to my office and I continued to work and by 4:30 I was done. I made my way to his office and knocked, surprisingly he immediately answered and I went in and placed the files on his desk. He was looking at me, like staring. I got nervous and my throat went dry all of a sudden. He didn't speak, just looked, I shifted on my feet and broke the silence "Is there anything else I can do Mr. Satero?" "No, leave" he cleared his throat. I turned and walked out. It was only 4:40 and dark in New York, well that's how it was during the winter months, the sun comes up at 7 and goes down at 4. The view from my office was breathtaking :)

Work ends at 5 pm, it is 5:20 now. I stayed behind to see if the boss would need anything before I left. I went to his office but he was gone. Weird. Anyways I made my way to the lobby and Rebecca was gone too, so I left. I called a cab and went home. I made my way through the city and it was breathtaking. The snow. The lights.The people. It's amazing.

I made it home after 30-45 minutes and went in. As soon as I went in I took off my clothes and showered and got ready for 'bed'. I turned on Netflix, after a while I drifted off to sleep.

First day, done.

-Third chapter done! Was a little boring only in Hailey's POV but I wanted to upload.
