Sweet Sixteen

*Present Day*

~Esther POV~

Almost ten years had passed since that fateful day. After a month in that tiny cell with little food and almost no water, they had quite easily broken me down. I was more than compliant, and took to being a slave quite easily. The Alpha was usually satisfied with my work, but still made it a point to make my life miserable--along every other wolf in the pack. The abuse was constant, but soon I stopped feeling pain. I stopped feeling anything at all. I became a cold, hard, empty shell. The only person who I let in was the Luna. I had long suspected that things weren't what they seemed between her and her mate, but it was never my place to ask her about it. She had me train in secret, and whenever possible she and I would get together and talk. She began to open up to me about some of the ways she had suffered. I didn't say anything as she cried, all I could do was hold her hand and tell her that it would be okay, and that I was there for her. She seemed to zone out and before I could ask her what was wrong, she suddenly turned to me and grabbed my hands.

"You are almost sixteen..." she began. I winced. Expecting the mate conversation, and the birds and the bees, but what came out her mouth next totally floored me.

"You are almost sixteen, and the Alpha has promised to sell you when you reach 'breeding' age. I refuse to let this happen, but I also know that he WILL know that it was me who helped you escape. I probably would not survive the punishment, and I want to live, so I have decided to not only help you escape the Dominion Pack, but I am going to accompany you. I am going to reject my mate, my pack, my life and start over with you." she said breathlessly.

I stared at her when she finished speaking. I couldn't believe it, I knew he hated me, but to sell me? As a breeder? Wasn't that illegal? Questions stumbled around my brain, my mouth refused to form a sentence as the reality of my situation slowly crept in. I looked at the Luna with tears in my eyes; all I could do was nod. She held me as I started to sob as my world came crashing down around me the day before my 16th birthday.

I did my chores that day in a daze. My mind was going in a dozen different directions, none of which had any real solutions. I seemed to float to my room when it was time for me to sleep. I flopped on to my bed and was out like a light; the stress of the day taking its' toll on me.

I was sleeping deeply, when I felt a hand come around my mouth. I jerked but the hand held me firm as his body held me down. He slipped one of his fingers into my mouth, making me choke. He continued to do that with his fingers as he used his other hand to lift my nightgown. I sobbed mindlessly as he lined himself up with my entrance. I was a virgin. I didn't want this to be my first time. I struggled, but it was no use. He began to push inside me, gripping my waist. He began to pump hips into me, pushing himself deeper into my body. When he reached my hymen, he roughly thrust himself the rest of the way in. I froze in shock as he had his way with me. He worked me over so thoroughly, that when he was finished I couldn't even move. I didn't even flinch when he continued to play with me. After some time had passed, he finally got tired of playing with me and left. I slowly got out of bed, and went into my bathroom. I turned the water as hot as I could stand it and washed the filth away. One day he will pay, I thought.

The morning was uneventful, but sometime in the afternoon, things popped off. The Luna had been carefully planning the escape, and she made sure to keep me informed, but something seem to have happened that threw her plans off because she cornered me in the laundry and told me that we would have to flee...right now. Apparently, a creature of the dark has been sighted on pack grounds and the Alpha and pack warriors have to go deal with it, but also, he has a buyer set to come well before when the Luna had planned to get me out. So here we were, hurriedly packing our bags as quickly as we could. We quickly donned our cloaks, and raced off into the forest opposite the direction the Alpha and his men were.

We made it to the edge of the territory with no real trouble. We dodged the guards and stepped over the boundary line, as we did so we whispered together,

"I hereby reject Dominion Pack as my pack, and declare loyalty only unto myself." The Luna followed it up with,

"I hereby reject Alpha Jake as my mate and renounce my place as Luna of Dominion Pack."

Pain flared in their hearts as the bonds that held them broke. A howl full of rage sounded into the night, howls of sorrow came from the rest of the pack as they felt their Luna leave. They quickly ran off into the night, putting their bad memories behind them. We ran for a solid day before we hitched a ride in the back of someone's truck. As we climbed into the bed and the driver set off, the Luna turned to me and said,

"Happy Birthday beautiful girl!"

Oh. That's right. It was my birthday today. Happy sweet sixteen to me, i guess...right?
